The Orcon Fly Parasites (10000 eggs) (FP-C10K) is a great alternative in eliminating pest flies, instead of using chemicals. Flies have been an irritation to humans for as long as people have grown crops and raised livestock. This causes infections, skin diseases and carries transmittable diseases from one animal to another or to humans. Flies are so tough to control because they are so productive. Because flies reproduce so quickly, chemicals have not been successful in controlling populations of flies because they can transform and produce pesticide-resistant young. The Fly Parasites interrupt these productive insects’ life cycle, and breaks the chain. They attack the flies by injecting their eggs into the pups or cocoon. It is an effective live product that eliminates flies that breed in garbage piles, livestock manure and compost heaps. These live products do not bite, attack or sting anything else but flies. Each box contains 5,000 eggs of fly parasites.

More Information About Fly Parasites:
Use: Fly parasites are small insects that attack flies by injecting their eggs into the pups, or cocoon, of the pest flies. The parasites are rarely seen because they are so small and are typically active at night. They are very active and effective in killing the flies that breed in manure of livestock, compost heaps, and garbage piles. They do not sting, bite, or assault anything other than flies.
Coverage: Use 10-20 parasites per square foot of breeding area, or 500-1000 per animal.
Release: The parasites are shipped inside of fly pupa, which looks a little like black rice. The parasites are feeding and developing in the pupa and will emerge as adults ready to work. Upon receipt, keep them warm (70 to 80 degrees F) and check the container for movement of ant-sized insects. At this time distribute the entire contents of the package into the fly breeding area.
Life Cycle: Each parasite will lay eggs into 40 to 50 fly pupae. The eggs hatch, feed, and go through their entire development cycle inside the fly pupa, which of course kills it. This takes 2-3 weeks, depending on temperature. Then they cut a small hole in the pupa casing, emerge as adults, and immediately continue the process by laying more eggs into the fly pupa.
