OvoControl Pigeons Bait Kibbles (ov-pg05) is a specially formulated food bait that helps control the increase in population of pigeons. This interferes efficiently with the reproduction of eggs from pigeons, although it also works with geese and ducks. It contains an active ingredient called nicarbazin, a formula that's initially created to help stop enteric disease in chickens. Through public research, it was shown that it constrict the ZP3 sperm receptor sites on the vitelline membrane to prevent the eggs from fertilizing. Since sperm is blocked from fertilizing the egg, no embryo will be developed.
OvoControl Pigeons Bait Kibbles (ov-pg05) works as a birth control for pigeons in the most humanely possible way. It improves the quality of life for pigeons populations while using safe methods to control their numbers. You can start baiting pigeons anytime during reproductive season, usually ideal during spring through fall. You can offer them bait in areas where they usually nest or feed. Recommended Use
Baiting can begin at any time — flat rooftops are ideal. OvoControl P has a wide margin of safety and efficacy. No special license is required to purchase or apply the product (except New York).
Dosage
OvoControl P is supplied in 30 lb. bags. Apply once daily with an automatic feeder at a rate of 1 lb. per 80 pigeons.
Non-targets
OvoControl P has a contraceptive effect only in birds and has no secondary effects in birds of prey. OvoControl P is considered a pesticide and care should be taken to avoid administration to non-target birds and other animals.
