    Can Pennington Zenith Zoysia be used over existing (thin and cut short) grass?
    We have an acre of every kind of grass (and weed) you can think of (native to Florida) and pests too, but are trying to cultivate a better looking (and single type of grass) lawn

    Pennington Zenith Zoysia Grass Seed with Mulch is a variety of self-spreading grass that will help to fill in bare spots in the lawn, and grows best in areas that receive full sun.  The manufacturer advises to mow the lawn closely before overseeding, then to aerate the lawn well with a spike aerator or similar tool.  Plant the seed, then aerate or rake lightly to cover the seed no deeper than 1/4'' deep.  Water daily for 30 days, keeping the seed moist at all times.
