    Q
Can Premise Granules be used as a pre-slab treatment application?
We are looking to do treatments in the winter in Iowa, and need something that won't freeze. Will this work instead of a liquid termiticide? Thanks
    A
Unfortunately not.  Premise granules are not a substitute for a termite treatment and they are not labeled for pre-treatment.  Premise granules are only a supplemental treatment to an already installed termite treatment.  Only liquid termiticides are labeled for pre-treatments under slabs.  Of course some states have approved baiting systems as a full termite treatment and don't require liquid treatments under the slab if you install a baiting system.

Premise and most other termiticides containing imidicloprid will last for 7 years in the soil.  You should re-treat after 7 years.

Dominion would be a great product to treat the soil.  Once the tree is planted you can treat it with talstar P.
