Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz.

This product WILL leave a residual that will continue to kill for up to 8 weeks. This should not be used in common living areas and near kitchens or food handling areas. It is meant for storage spaces and non-common areas such as storage facilities, attics, crawl spaces, garages, etc. You should use CB PCO Fogger for use in common living areas since it does not leave a long term residual.

Pro-Control Plus Total Release is an aerosol fogger, ideal for space treatments in facilities where food handling is not a concern. It is convenient, easy-to-use and effective against a wide variety of pests. Once the can is pressed, it totally releases all active ingredient as a fog. You should not stay in the room while it is releasing unless you have access to a high quality chemical face mask. You should not return for two hours after the can is pressed to allow time for the fog to settle.

Kills: Pro-Control Plus Total Release kills roaches, silverfish, fleas, spiders, ants, crickets, houseflies, ticks, black carpet beetles, small flying moths, saw-toothed grain beetles, rice weevils, pillbugs, mosquitos, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, gnats and earwigs.

5 of 5 stars  Roach killer
By Felipe in Modesto, CA on 09/03/2010

I had a little problem with roaches but not the little roaches these are about 1" dark brown to very light brown. So I bought a case of Pro Control Plus. Set off two bombs one in the hall way one in the living room. Came back two hrs. later and everything was dead roaches, ants, flys, and spiders, so I give a 5 out of 5 thanks, no more bugs.

5 of 5 stars  Wow! Really worked!
By Pete in spearfish, sd on 09/02/2011

Wiped out a nasty yellowjacket nest in my small garage. It was in a tough place to get to right inside the door. I previously used three store-bought wasp bombs along with foam spray at the entry, and they did very little. I sprayed the opening with foaming insecticide as a one-two punch, but to no avail. I finally set this bad boy up and that was the end of that. I used the foam spray as well, but I'm not sure I needed to. Save time and money--buy this.

5 of 5 stars  Smokey Brown Roaches in the attic
By Sally in Nags Head, NC on 12/18/2011

This is my second purchase of the case size. I live on the Outer Banks and it is very damp. All of a sudden, I had a time controlling these huge smokey brown roaches. Since my HVAC is is the attic and the pan accumulates water from condensation, this was attracting them. I guess they went down the walls and inside the house. When we figured out where they were coming from, I purchased a case of the Pro Control Plus and set off 4 cans in the attic. It killed all of them and I just set off 4 more cans as a precaution. I also purchased the Delta Dust and put around the HVAC pan. My neighbors spent $350 getting their attic fogged. This is a good savings and I would recommend highly. I have not seen any activity in over 6 months.

Had a shipping pod delivered from Florida when my son moved back after college. I was concerned about the possible bugs, i.e., spiders, roaches, etc that were evident when the pod was packed and loaded in Florida. I used Pro Control Plus Total can...and set it off in the pod and closed the doors. When we started to remove the items (clothing and furniture) all we found were some dead bugs. I would use this product worked great!!!

  • 4 of 5 stars  Will this work on my shelves for beetles
By Scott in Kingsland Ga on 08/16/2017

I have wooden shelves I had made from a tree. About 3 months after they were in our house we have beetles that are eating it from the inside. Will this product eliminate the beetles without staining the wood?

    Expert Response   Expert response:
Thank you for your review. We would like to take the time out to help troubleshoot with you. You have asked if the Pro-Control Plus Total Release will stain, with it being oily it could on sensitive wood and should only be used in attics, storage areas and basements, but if you are trying to eliminate wood destroying beetles you will need something different. If your wood is raw (untreated) you can use Bora-Care ( that will soak through the wood. However if your wood is treated, you can use Jecta ( which you will need to apply with a caulking gun into the wood at voids, checks, cracks, pre-drilled holes, or injection sleeves. If you have further questions please feel free to give us call at 866-581-7378 Monday- Friday from 9-5.

So far, it seems to work the way it is described. I used it in my shed and I noticed that even after 2 weeks, I can still smell a slight odor. It's fine since I used it on a shed but I'm not sure about using it in a house. But for what I needed, I am happy with it so far.

  • 5 of 5 stars  Totally Effective Moth Solution
By Beth in Centreville, VA on 11/13/2016

We had been dealing with moths in our laundry for several months. (Note: don't ever store bird seed in your house!) We had called in a pest control person who said he couldn't do any more than what we had already been doing (sticky traps). He advised me, unofficially, to buy this product online. We bought Pro-Control Plus Total Release, bombed the laundry room, then set out the pheromone stick traps. We haven't seen a single moth since. This product is very effective and we highly recommend it.

QWhich fogger to use for killing bugs in storage unit?
We are moving and want to bomb before I bring things out of storage in my new home.

AWe would recommend using Pro Control Plus Total Release. This does leave a residual of up to 8 weeks and should not be placed in common living areas and/or near kitchen or food handling areas. Pro Control is meant to be used in a storage facility. You should not return for two hours after the can has been pressed and the fog has had time to settle. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

QWill the Pro Control Plus Total Release fogger kill black widows and their eggs in my garage? We have a lot of black widows!

APro Control Plus Total Release fogger will kill just about any insect that is out and exposed at the time of treatment. You should note that the fogger will not penetrate cracks, crevices or other areas that are hidden. Foggers go straight up into the air, float around for a short period of time and then settle onto surfaces. This means that any spiders that are hidden in cracks, crevices, storage boxes, etc will not be exposed to the fogger. You can use the fogger to get rid of any exposed insects and then follow up with a crack and crevice treatment such as Cy-Kick Aerosol. Also, spider eggs will most likely not be killed by any insecticide. The only surefire way to kill the eggs is to crush them or burn them.

QWhat is the best pesticide to control camel or cave crickets?
I am using strips of duct tape now and catch a few a day over the last several months but they don't stop. I have them in my basement and den and I do see them around the outside of the house.

AOne of our most popular products for camel and crave crickets is our Niban Fine Granular Bait. It can be used indoors in the basement but it should be used around the outside of your home to help kill the crickets before they try to get into the house.  The Niban FG Bait is a food source that they are attracted to and eat.

QWill Pro Control Plus Total Release kill bedbugs?
I have been spraying using powder for 9 monthes now to get read of bed bugs will this help. If not do you have anything else

AWe do not recommend any type of fogger or bomb for bedbug control. Pro Control Plus Total Release fogger is made to kill exposed insects. In most instances bedbugs keep themselves concealed in hidden places to avoid detection and they will not come into contact with fogged insecticides. We recommend that you take a look at our Bedbug Kits. These kits come with all of the products that we recommend to eliminate bedbugs plus they come with step by step instructions that will help you treat more effectively. You must follow each step of the instructions, and you must be very thorough (treat every cracks, crevice, void, tuft or fold) and consistently do the retreatments every 7-10 days to get eliminate this pest.

QI need something to kill wasps/hornets entering my home in the fall.
For the second year in a row, we have wasps/hornets entering the family room to get out of the cold. Our pest control company cannot find the source and we even changed companies this year. We have a small crawl space attic and have closed off the recessed lighting. We have a fireplace with a top flue that closes shut and a small crawl space under the family room. Should I try to use a fogger or something else? My wife and children are allergic to bees, so it is critical that I get rid of them.

AYou could use a bug bomb or fogger in the attic space if you have an attic space.  If they are in your home then this usually means that they are coming in and out from somewhere around your home.  They have to get out somehow to get food.  Your only option is to find this place where they fly in and out.  Once you find their entry/exit point then you can treat that area directly with a dust and take care of the problem.

QWhat is the best treatment for moth control in a 10 x 12 storage closet?
I am considering the the Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz.

Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz†would not be recommended only because the label on mentions small moths and does not name the species of moth. While the Pro Control Plus Total Release 6oz fogger will leave an 8 week residual, it would not be the best treatment for long term control. Most foggers will only affect the moths that are out during the time the fog is being dispursed.†

†Please take a moment to reveiew our Clothes Moth Control Article for additional information on treatments. There are different varieties of Cloths Moths. If you are unsure of what type of moth you have, we recommened contacing your local extension office for a proper I.D.†

QWill Pro-Control Plus Total Release kill carpet beetles and larvae?
Can I use Pro Control Plus Total Release in the attic and will it destroy/kill both the larvae and carpet beetles?

We would not recommend using Pro-Control Plus Total Release for carpet beetles/larvae as it will only kill larvae/adult carpet beetles that are out in the open at the time you set it off.† It will not get into the cracks and crevices where the larvae prefer to feed/harbor unless you use something that is labeled to spray those areas directly

QWould Pro-Control Total Release Aerosol Insecticide prevent wasp nests if sprayed under my house eaves?
Last year we had a terrible wasp problem and I'd like to prevent it from the start this year if possible. Knock down all last year's nests and treat before it warms up. What would you recommend?

Pro-Control Total Release Aerosol will kill wasps on contact and provide a residual for up to eight weeks. We would recommend using a concentrate, such as Cyonara 9.7 outdoors around the eaves of your home for a residual instead of using a fogging product. This can be applied every 30 days as needed.

QIs there an optimum temperature range for using Pro-Control Plus Total Release?
I want to use this product in a crawl space. Its not climate controlled and the temperature this year does drop below freezing. Is there a minimum temperature for this product?

The manufacturer does not offer a specific temperature range for using Pro-Control Plus Total Release foggers except that the cans should not be exposed to temperatures over 130 degrees. In general, we would recommend for ambient temperatures to be at least 50 degrees in the area where a fogger is used, and the can should be at or close to room temperature to function properly. You should not use foggers or most insecticides in an area that is near or below freezing. You will not have insect activity if temperatures are this cold. Keep in mind that you should only use a total release fogger in an area where you can turn off any circulating air and/or pilot lights and have access to properly set and then remove the fogger, per the product label instructions.

QWhat would be the best fogger recommended for roach control in an apartment?

Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz.†is labeled for roach control, however will only kill the roaches or other insects that are out in the open areas of the home while the fogger is being dispursed. Foggers alone will not eradicate a roach infestation.

One of our roach control kits would be recommended for roach control. †These professional kits includes non-staining, low odor concentrated insecticide for spraying the outside perimeter of the home and inside underneath appliances, behind cabinets, under toilets and sinks, etc. You'll also get Roach Bait Gel to help get rid of those roaches that like to hide. Baits can be applied up high in the kitchen in the corner of cabinets and in cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms. The bait contains a slow-acting poison that attracts and kills feeding roaches, who also spread the bait to other roaches by contact or by sharing food. Finally, an Insect Growth Regulator is offered which will stop roaches from laying eggs, helping to halt the infestation. The combination of an IGR with roach bait is a highly effective roach control strategy that is widely used by pest control professionals. The insecticide must be applied with a 1 gallon pump sprayer.

QHow much square footage does the Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz.?
We are moving into a home that was flea infested. we want to make sure that there are no more fleas and any other bugs that may be in there. The home is about 5,000 square feet. How many cans do I need to use to make sure I am covering square footage?

The†Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz.†wil treat approx. 600 sq feet. We normally do not recommend bombing to treat for fleas. The reason being that when you bomb you are only killing the insects that come in contact with the active ingredient. You want to use products that will break down the life cycle of the fleas. We recommend using the†Indoor Flea Kit.†The Indoor Flea Kit with Alpine Aerosol and CimeXa dust treats over 2000 sq. ft. of space and is an excellent combination for long-lasting flea control. The kit contains two cans of Alpine Aerosol which is one of the safest professional grade flea sprays for use indoors and was recently classified as a reduced risk product by the EPA. It provides excellent control of fleas and contains an IGR as well, which prevents adult fleas from being able to lay eggs, eventually halting the flea reproductive cycle.† You'll also get two bottles of CimeXa Dust which is a safe, odorless, non-staining dust that is perfect for spreading on carpets, floor coverings, in cabinets, under furniture cushions, and other areas where fleas tend to harbor.† As fleas come into contact with CimeXa, the dust literally dries the fleas out causing eventual death.† These two products together create a powerful double punch providing excellent, safe and lasting indoor flea control.

QHow can this be used to treat 20 ft ceilings? Or can it?
I need to treat the welding shop in our Training Center for spiders, which measures 50' x 50' x 20' for a total of 50,000 cu ft.

The Pro-Control Plus Total Release for a 6 oz. can treats up to 5,000 cubic feet of unobstructed space. You would†need 50 cans to treat 50,000 cubic feet. A more economical and faster treatment would be to use a Fogging Machine and a Fogging Solution approved for this use. Always be sure the products you select are labeled for your specific application needs.†Keep in mind that fogging will only kill insect and spiders exposed at the time of treatment. Please see our Spider Pest Guide for more information about treating for this pest.

QWill Pro Control work for Scorpions in attics?
I am looking for an attic fogger for a full size 2000sq ft home. I believe I have scorpions in the walls and attic. I have a gas heater. what would you recommend?

Delta Dust†is good to use as part of a scorpion control program and would be a great product to apply to the cracks and crevices in the attic. Delta dust can be applied using a hand duster directly behind baseboards, to window and door frames, corners, pipes, storage locations, attics, crawl spaces, and other areas which these pests may enter or crawl. We also recommend that you use a concentrated liquid insecticide such as†Demon WP†around the outside perimeter of your home to help create a barrier to keep these pests out. You should treat a band of soil 6 - 10 ft wide around and adjacent to the building. Also treat the building foundation to a height of 2 - 3 ft where pests are active and may find entrance. It is important that you do not rely on insecticides alone to control scorpions, you should also make some changes outdoors to make your property less favorable to this pest.

Non-insecticide methods for scorpion control are:

Harborage Removal- Harborage removal is key to scorpion control and will greatly reduce the numbers of scorpions in the area surrounding the structure, making it far less likely that they will enter. Harborage removal includes eliminating piles of lumber, bricks, and other stacked items that create clusters of tight spaces, elimination of vegetation and other heavy ground coverings near homes and buildings, trimming back tree and shrub limbs from walls and roof, and keeping gutters clear of leaves and other debris.

Exclusion- Scorpions and other pests can be kept out of structures to a large degree by installing tight-fitting screens, weatherstripping around doors and windows, and caulking cracks and crevices.

QCan I put the Pro-Control Plus Total Release - 6 oz. fogger in my bedroom fireplace?
I have a moth infestation in my fireplace in my bedroom. Is it safe to release the fogger there? Will it be dangerous for us to sleep in the bedroom. All the gas valves will be off.

<span font-size:13.3333330154419px"="">There really are not any specific products that are labeled for use in a fireplace.  You have to be careful when applying pesticides and then heating it because of the fumes. Have you tried burning a fire in your fireplace for about 30 minutes? You could try and place a Pro Pest Pheronet trap in there. This will help to lure the moths away from where they are residing.
