Application Directions

Make application using equipment that will insure uniform coverage. Sprays should be applied when weeds are actively growing. Application under drought conditions may provide less than desirable results. Broadleaf weed species germinate at different times. Only emerged weeds present at time of application are controlled.

Apply 1 to 2 pints of Confront per acre to control broadleaf weeds. A maximum of 0.19 lb ae clopyralid/0.56 lb ae triclopyr per acre (2 pints of Confront per acre) per application is recommended. To minimize turfgrass injury, repeat applications, if required, should be made not less than 4 weeks apart. Newly seeded turf should be mowed 2 or 3 times before treating. Do not water for 6 hours after application.

Spot Treatment of Ornamental Turfgrass Using Portable Sprayers - Mix 0.5 fl. oz. of Confront in enough water to make 1 gallon of spray and apply at any time broadleaf weeds are susceptible by wetting foliage of undesirable plants to point of runoff. This is enough spray to treat approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of turf.

    Dave in LA

    By Dave on 04/30/2011

    Verified Purchase

Results of Confront are amazing so far on Virginia Buttonweed. It has scoffed at other products and most kill large areas, whereas Confront has little collateral damage when used on a mixture of Bermuda and Centipede. The warmer days of spring seem to rapid the kill. I have fought this battle with this particular weed for 18 years and I must have missed the memo on "Confront." One application at 1 pt./A. or 4 tbls per 1 gal water in a pump sprayer (strong) is working fantastic for spot treatments. Now the final test of time to see if this pestilence comes back or is finally gone in the areas we have treated. Very, very happy so far!!!

    Worth the cost

    By Phecky on 09/07/2011

Weeds that scoff at the "Trimec" herbicides will wilt away after absorbing Confront. Clovers, Oxalis, Lespediza, ground ivy, wild violets, spurge, etc. These traditional tougher to control weeds that don't respond to older herbicide chemistry usually start to curl up in 24 hours after absorbing Confront. Then within 5-7 days start to just vanish. I have noticed that Dandelion will turn reddish in color, but may not be killed with the first application. That is a little odd considering how easy dandelion succumbs to Trimec.

    Works, but...

    By Frank on 12/31/2011

This stuff works great for its intended purpose, but do not use treated vegetation as a garden mulch or in compost if you plan on growing beans, peas, sunflowers, potatoes, tomatoes or carrots. The residual herbicide will severely inhibit their growth.

    Confront WORKS!

    By Michael on 08/30/2011

    Verified Purchase

I used this on Virginia Buttonweed, and after 1 week it was completely gone! It destroyed some small areas of clover as well. I was skeptical at first due to the price, but it was so worth it. This is the only thing I know that works against virginia buttonweed.
