After the first application I was a bit concerned. Two weeks later gave the chamber bitter a second shot and this time with a squirt of dish soap. Started to wither and die but will really get after it in the Spring. The dollar weeed was not very happy either. You are my go to people.

Q
Will Bayer Advanced Southern Season Long Weed Control kill stinging thistle?

I have stinging thistle in my yard. I have tried several different products but they take either 2 weeks to kill it or they don't work at all. Will Bayer's product work and when will I see the results?

A
Southern Season Long Weed Control for Lawns is labeled for most kinds of thistle and also for stinging nettle which is also called stinging thistle. Be sure to read and follow the product label for best results. According to the product label it can 14 days -28 days to see full results on hard to kill weeds like thistle. Certain hard-to-kill weeds may be retreated in 2 weeks if necessary. You can use Round Up Quick Pro if the plant is actively growing for a fast kill and follow up with a broadcast of the Bayer product to stop new thistle from growing.

Q
Can I spray Bayer Advanced Southern Season Long Weed Control for Lawns under trees that are in my yard?

Dichondra is invading my 2.5 acre yard. I have many shade trees, fruit trees, nut trees, and evergreen trees in my yard. I have a combination of centipede and St Augustine grass in the yard since it is fairly shady. I need a product that can be applied with a pull behind yard sprayer for coverage of this large area. I do not have many areas in my yard that does not have some type of tree. Many products say no but most yards in the south have shade trees

A

Any product such as Bayer Advanced Southern Season Long Weed Control for Lawns which has active ingredients that target broadleaf weeds will also potentially harm trees, shrubs, and other desirable ornamental plants. When using post-emergent herbicides that target broadleaf weeds, you will need to be careful that you stay outside the dripline of desirable trees, especially edible plants like fruit or nut trees. You also want to be sure there is not drift onto leaves, roots, or other parts of desirable trees. For broadleaf weeds close to trees, we recommend using a hand pump or backpack to spot treat the weeds carefully using a non-selective herbicide such as RoundUp QuikPro or Avenger Concentrate.
