Also treat the building foundation to a height of 2 - 3 ft where pests are active and may find entrance. Treat other insect entry points such as doors, windows, under siding and eaves of structure. May be applied in compressed air, back-pack or power spray equipment. An application rate of 2 2/3 fl. oz. per 1,000 squar feet is desirable. Q
Can I mix permacap with Talstar for exterior use?
A
These products should not be mixed together. There is no valid reason to mix PermaCap Cs and Talstar P together.  Talstar P is a synthetic pyrethroid and PermaCap CS already contains a synthetic pyrethroid, so there would be nothing to gain by mixing these products together. Making a pesticide too strong can actually backfire. Areas that are treated with this overly concentrated spray will be repellent and insects will simply avoid the treated areas prolonging the infestation. If you want to make one of these products have a little extra oomph you can mix a natural pyrethrin with it such as Exciter. Exciter will give you a fast knockdown of pests that are present at the time of the application and the Talstar P or Permacap CS will give you a lasting residual.

Q
what is the mix rate for spraying Douglas Fur to kill Spruce Bud Worms with PERMACAP, and with Excite R.
A
According to the dilution chart for spraying on the PermaCap Label, you would mix 2 2/3 ounce per 1 gallon of water. You could mix this in the same gallon of water as the ExciteR which you would use at the rate of 1/2 ounce per gallon. Keep in mind that Spruce Bud Worms are not specifically listed ont the PermaCap label so we are not certain this product will work for your needs.

Q
Tick problem :(

My dog was infested with ticks, I had her treated, bombed the house, had my yard professionally treated and I am using the Permacap inside. I have sprayed from 2 feet on floor from baseboards all the way up the wall to the ceiling in every room in my house. It has been a little over 2 weeks since my first initial treatment and second was 4 days after the first ( .5 dilution), but I am still vacuuming up ticks. Any advice on what to do other then shaving my dog and setting my house and yard on fire to get rid of them.

A
It can several weeks and several treatments to control ticks completely because of their egg hatch and life cycle. We recommend that you use both an insect growth regulator and an insecticide together to control ticks. We have put together a kit specifically for tick control which you can see here: Tick Control Kit

Q
Is PermaCap CS good for outdoor mosquito control?

I am looking for a product to use for outdoor mosquito control. I want to apply it with a backpack powered blower. Is this a good product for that application, or do you suggest something else?

A
Talstar is our most popular selling product for mosquito control.  It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water and apply using a sprayer.  You will need about 1 oz of product for every 1,000 sq ft of space you need to treat. The key is to apply it to all shrubs, trees, and other foliage around the house or patio where you are trying to provide relief.  It should be directed not only on top of the leaves and plants, but on the underside of the leaves as well which is where the mosquitoes hang out.  Talstar should be applied every 30 days for optimum control.

Q
I am looking for an insecticide to kill barn flies. I'm looking for something to spray on the walls of the barn
A
PermaCap CS is labeled for flies and will provide a lasting residual but a slower kill. We would also recommend the Maxforce Fly Spot Bait that kills flies in a minute or less in most cases. Maxforce Fly Spot Bait is labeled for use indoors and outdoors in commercial settings and outdoors for residential settings.  Just one small spot of bait will last up to 6 weeks to provide indoors and 30 days outdoor control of pesky flies.
