    Q
Length of time needed before rain for Demon insecticide
Approximately 10-11 hours after spraying the exterior of my home with the Demon insecticide it began to rain. (I sprayed about 6:30 p.m. and it began raining the next morning.) Should that be enough time for the insecticide to "set" or will I need to respray?
    A
As long as Demon WP had time to dry (1-2hours) the rain will not wash it away.

    Q
If my dogs licks this product after the Demon WP Insecticide has dried, will the product hurt them?
    A
The small of amount of residual that Demon WP leaves behind after it has dried, should pose no threat to your dog. The amount that is lethal enough for a small insect is not enough to poison a dog or small animal. You do want to maked the container is sealed and not accessible to any small children or pets.

Looking for a chemical to take the place of Ficam W??
    A
Most people that used to purchase Ficam W have found similar results with products such as Demon WP, Cy-Kick CS, Demand CS or Suspend SC for general pest control. You did not specifically indicate what pest you are trying to eliminate so we can only recommend general use products for you.

  • Asked by Torey from Virginia
    10/04/2011
    Q
Which product has the longest residual against crickets, spiders, and centipedes?
In my crawl space is where I initially have the problem, then they find themselves inside the home. Living with a wife and 3 daughters is not fun when these pests start to show up.
    A
Wettable powder formulations such as Demon WP or Tempo WP or microencapsulated formulations such as Onslaught or Cy-Kick CS will have the longest lasting residuals. These formulations are more stable than other insecticide formulations and they are also labeled for crickets, spiders and centipedes. Even the longest lasting insecticide cannot keep out 100% of insects because insects can find creative ways to go around or over insecticides. We recommend that in addition to spraying the perimeter and crawlspace of your home that you also see how you can alter the environment immediately around your home to make it less favorable to insects. Please take a few moments to read our article Integrated Pest Managment to learn how to make your property less favorable to insects.

  • Asked by Colby from Tyler, Tx

    Q
After using Demon WP, I notice a white residue on the floor inside my home. Will mopping make poison not work?
I am using demon WP. I want to know if mopping up the white residue it left behind after drying will make the poison lose its effect.
    A
Yes, Demon Wp does have the potential to leave a slight powdery residue. If you should mop the treated areas it will lower efficacy of the active ingredient. We recommend at least waiting a week to two weeks before mopping.

    Q
Do I put the Demon WP packet in the sprayer and then add water?
Do the plastic packets dissolve without opening them?
    A

Yes, Demon WP packets will dissolve when mixed with water in a hand pump sprayer and applied to cracks and crevices listed on the product label. It would help to fill the spray tank 1/2 with water and dissolve a packet of Demon WP and add another 1/2 gallon of water.

    Q
What is the difference between Tempo Ultra WP and Demon WP
Which is better for stink bugs and spiders?
    A

Demon WP and Tempo Ultra WP are both synthetic pyrethroids and work in much the same fashion and either one would be very effective for stink bugs and spiders.  Demon WP is actually the  product we sell in our overwintering kit for stinkbugs, ladybugs and cluster flys, it would also do a great job for spiders.

    Q
I sprayed Demon around base boards yesterday and this morning my 8 year old cat
has vomited about 3-4 times today including tonight at 9:00pm. He is hiding and does not want to sleep on the bed with me which is his practice. He may have walked on wet Demon. What is antidote if he has Demon over exposure?
    A

We would recommend contacting your veterinarian as soon as possible. They would better be able to give you advice on your cat.

We do recommend keeping your animals out of any area that was sprayed until Demon WP and any other product is completely dry.

    Q
How can I neutralize Demon WP with some other substance?
I have a 1 room apt and I may have overdid it. I sprayed in the summer for german cockroaches and by winter all windows closed and the heat on its unbearable my face burns my arms burn it seems it turned to powder and laid on everything everything I touch I get a burning chemical sensation ,smell i honestly cant breathe in there at all. Any suggestions?
    A
Demon WP is labeled for roaches including German Roaches. It is mixed with water and applied in the cracks and crevices only per the label. It has an indoor residual for up to three months. If applied properly, it should not be causing any burning unless unlabeled surfaces were treated. We recommend that the apartment be cleaned properly and that you seek medical attention immediately.

    Q
Can I apply Demon to the ground after it rains?
    A
The ground should be dry before you apply Demon WP. If you apply Demon WP to a wet surface it will not have the opprotunity to bond to the surface and could potentially wash away.

  • Asked by Nick
    07/09/2011
    Q
Can I use insecticide granules in my crawlspace?
I have an ant, earwig, and spider issue in my new house. I have sprayed around the yard, but they still seem to be getting in. I would assume that the only other place is under the house in the crawlspace. If I were to retreat the yard with granular insecticide, could I also use it in the crawlspace for added protection? If so, which would be the best kind?
    A
You would not want to use granules under the crawl space of the house.  The reason being is granules require moisture, either from watering or rain, to release the insecticide that kills the insects.  You should always water in the granules after application especially if you are in an area with little rain and moisture.  This may be why you are not getting good results already in the yard.  Since rain will not make it in the crawl space, or at least it should not be, granules are not good for under the house.  In addition to applying granules in the yard and watering them in, you should apply a liquid insecticide, specifically a wettable powder around the perimeter of the house and underneath the house.  Wettable powders are easier for spiders and other insects to get on their bodies typically and are faster acting.  Our most popular wettable powder product is Demon WP and it can be applied using a hand pump sprayer.
