Product Overview

Totality Wood Treatment creates an effective and treated barrier to the structure by either pre-treating the wood structural or treating the lumber once it has been installed by spraying, brushing, or foaming applications. Total coverage of the wood must be completed for optimal insect wood-destroying control.

Applying Totality Wood Treatment to both wood and wood based products will protect those treated products from damage for up to 2 years from carpenter ants, subterranean termites, drywood termites, formosan termites, ambrosia beetles, deathwatch beetles, false powder-post beetles, powder-post beetles, old-house bores and others.

Totality saves you time and money per job because only 1 coat is required versus 2 coats for borate products. Treated wood was found to have 2,800 ppm of bifenthrin after 6 years and was detected up to a depth of 8mm (5/16").

Formulation

Totality Wood Treatment is a new product formulation that provides the control and prevention of termites and other wood destroying insects. The Totality formulation comes with a low use rate, 3.2 fl oz per gallon of water for a 0.6% finished dilution. It saves pest management professionals time per service visit as only 1 coat is required, compared to 2 coats that is needed for competitive borate products.

Performance

From a performance standpoint, published university data indicates the bifenthrin provides effective termite repellency and mortality. Specifically, befenthrin kill termites at levels as low as 0.001 ppm in soil. Combine this data with additional FMC research and a new and superior product in wood treatment applications emerges. Totality treated wood was found to have up to 2,800 ppm of FMC bifenthrin after 6 years. Also, the FMC bifenthrin of Totality was detected in wood up to a depth of 8mm after 6 years.

Application

Totality Wood Treatment forms an effective, treated barrier to the structure by either pre-treating structural wood or by treating lumber once installed by spraying, brushing, and foaming applications. Complete coverage of the wood is essential for optimal wood destroying insect control.

The application of Totality Wood Treatment to both timber and timber based products as specified in the application instructions will protect treated products from damage for up to two years from drywood and subterranean termites (including Formosan termites), carpenter ants, ambrosia beetles, powder post beetles, false powder post beetles, deathwatch beetles, old house borers and others.

Totality Wood Treatment is intended to be applied only to bare wood, plywood, particle board or other cellulose building materials in the absense of paint, stains or sealers. Such materials will prevent Totality Wood Treatment from properly adhering to cellulose surfaces.

Q
Can this product be used on finished hardwood floors and cabinets

I can't believe the damage these beetles have done to my home. Idk how or where they came from but it appears I have wood boring and carpet beetles. I have been fighting cloth moths for a year. Used a professional pest control company that would come in and out so quick I could see they weren't using enough chemicals, after 5 months I had to let him go. I've lost most of my clothes, linens and some furniture, now I have got panty moths. I've spent thousands and seems all I do is laundry and clean, can't eat for fear of eggs and larvae. My car is infested too, i'm really hanging by a thread, these things have robed me from my life. Please advise me to the products I need, my house is quite large 2 story, Several rooms are not used, just storage. I think maybe trying to salvage some clothes and furniture is the why they took over. I would appreciate any advise you have for me, i'm so tired I feel like quiting and sell out, but know I'll take em with me. Desperate......Kathy

Totality Wood Treatment is intended to be applied only to bare wood, plywood, particle board or other cellulose building materials in the absense of paint, stains or sealers. Such materials will prevent Totality Wood Treatment from properly adhering to cellulose surfaces. Unfortunately, we are not aware of a product that will treat wood that has been painted, stained, or sealed in any way. The only effective means of control boring beetles would be to said the finish off and then apply the Totality Wood Treatment. As for the Carpet Beetles we would recommend reading our Carpet Beetle Control article and take a look at the Nyguard Plus. Apply with a sweeping motion as a surface spray to carpet, rugs, closets, baseboards, upholstered furniture, and around edges of carpet.

Q
Does Totality Wood Treatment provide moisture control?

Can it be used in crawl spaces and such to prevent fungi and other similar wood destroying organisms?

A

Totality Wood Treatment is designed to protect raw wood from wood-destroying insects such as termites, but it does not protect from wood decay fungus or mold. Boracare or Timbor would be a more appropriate product to help protect from wood decay fungus. Keep in mind that wood treatment is not a substitute for any measures required to reduce humidity or otherwise correct moisture conditions in a crawl space or other areas.

Q
Will Totality Wood Treatment take care of infested wood or only prevent?
A

Per the Totality Wood Treatment Label: Totality Wood Treatment will control existing infestations of drywood and subterranean termites (including Formosan termites), carpenter ants, carpenter bees, powder-post beetles, false powder-post beetles, deathwatch beetles, and old-house borers in wood-in-place. Note: This type of application is not intended to be a substitute for soil treatment, mechanical alteration or fumigation. A spray concentration of 0.06% (as listed in the dilution chart below) has not been shown to provide long-term structural protection.
