    Seems to work

    By Peter on 07/23/2016

I was concerned that this product might not be effective for smaller ants, which are my primary concern. But since I applied the product, I have seen no ants in the affected area whatsoever. So, at this early stage, I give the product a very favorable rating. By contrast. I had found the Home Defense Max liquid product to be ineffective for outdoor applications, beyond the first few days after application.

Questions & Answers

Sort Questions
Q
How long does Hi-Yield Ant Killer Granules take to kill the ants?
A

Hi-Yield Ant Killer Granules contain bifenthrin, which is an insecticide that starts killing insects on contact and then has a residual for several weeks after the application has dried. Depending on the size and health of the individual ants, they can start dying within minutes. Keep in mind that this insecticide is not a transfer product, so if you are treating ant mounds, then you need to follow the label directions for direct mound drenching.

Q
Can you use Hi-Yield Ant Killer Granules around chickrns?
A

The Hi Yield Ant Killer Granules are not labeled for use in grazing areas or where animals such as chickens would peck the ground and risk ingesting the chemical. You may want to consider a spray option instead so there are no loose granules on the surface for them to pick up, or use outdoor ant baiting in stations in the area to allow the ants only to have access to the chemical.
