Scotts Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer is a potent herbicide formulated to prevent crabgrass, oxalis, foxtail, spurge and certain types of weeds even before they start germination. This product also prevents grassy weeds in lawns that are dormant. See results on your lawn and see it last all season long. This product does not contain fertilizer and must not be used on dichondra and bentgrass lawns. This pesticide comes in a 10.06 lb. bag which can cover up to 5,000 square feet making it an affordable choice.

Yes, all pre-emergent applications including Scotts Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer need to be watered in after application so it gets down into the soil and creates the barrier.

Yes the Scotts Halts Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is a pre emergent that is safe on most all lawn types including St Augustine grass, and only excludes use on dichondra and bentgrass lawns.

How does Scotts Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer compare to the Pennington Pro Crabgrass control?

It will be applied to Floratam grass in southern Texas.

Scotts Halts Crabgrass and Grassy Weed Preventer contains Pendimethalin and Pennington Pro Crabgrass control contains prodiamine. They are different active ingredients but both pre-pre-emergents that are applied prior to weed germination including crabgrass.
