Product Overview

Pennington Bermudagrass Blend is a warm-season grass seed that is sure to grow healthy, thick, and self-repairing grass for new and established lawns. Naturally growing a deep root system, the grass is also exceptionally wear, disease, drought, and insect resistant, leading to longer lasting turf than other grass varieties. Best to plant in the late spring and summer months, as the product grows best in sunny areas when the average temperature is between 70° F and 90° F. Pennington’s patented Penkoted technology also keeps the grass safe from fungus by accelerating the grass' early growth, the most disease-susceptible stage of growth, with the germination of the grass taking 7 to 21 days after seeding. The grass is best in areas with 8+ hours of sun per day and will go dormant in the winter months. This product comes in a 5 lb bag and covers up to 5,000 sq. ft.

    Growth rate is very high

    By David on 05/15/2020

Growth rate is very high. Germination comes within days, even though I did not prepare the soil the way it should be.

Just started planting this today so don't know how it will come out. Hopefully we will have a beautiful green lawn instead of ugly weeds.

Q
Can I overseed my centipede grass with Bermuda seed?
A

You can use Bermuda seed such as Pennington Bermudagrass Blend in your lawn if you are ok with the possibility of the Bermuda taking over the area. Bermuda can be very difficult to control once it is established, so we do not recommend using it unless you know that the desirable grass you most want. Bermudagrass seeds germinate best in full sun when daily temperatures average 70 – 90 degrees.
