Preharvest Interval - This may be used up to the day of harvest.

For full coverage, dilute applications (greater than 150 gallons of spray solution per acre) are recommended. Concentrate applications (usually from 20 to 150 gallons of spray solution) may reduce the coverage and thus the effectiveness. Application volumes depend on the crop type, crop size and target pest. Adjust the spray volume to obtain complete coverage without runoff. Extreme care should be taken when using concentrate sprays as the potential for enhanced crop phytotoxicity is increased. A concentrate application can provide satisfactory results as long as the spray unit is properly engineered, calibrated and operated.

Note: Use efficient equipment of the proper type.

DO NOT spray during or immediately prior to temperatures over 95°F or when the temperature approaches freezing, or during hot dry winds, rain or other unsuitable conditions. DO NOT overspray or double spray. Plants should be sprayed only when in vigorous condition and when their moisture condition is suitable. Before using, make certain spray tank is free of sulfur residues.

Sulfur: On Grapes: DO NOT apply sulfur within 10 days of an oil application.

On all other Crops: DO NOT apply micronized sulfur within 10 days of an oil application and DO NOT apply oil within 14 days of an application of wet-table or dusting sulfur.

Tank Mixes:

This may be mixed with other pesticides to improve the level of pest control. Read and follow all directions and restrictions on the labels of the proposed tank-mix products. The combination of this product with more than one other pesticide is not recommended. Use caution and read all labels thoroughly when using any other insecticide or miticide in combination with this product. Always carry out a test spray for plant sensitivity before making a full scale application.

DO NOT use the following chemicals:

Captan, Folpet, during, with or following an oil spray. A period of 14 days must elapse before any of the following chemicals are used before or after an application of this product: anilazine (Dyrene), chlorothalonil (Bravo), dicloran (Botran), dicofol (Kelthane), permethrin (Ambush, Pounce).

DO NOT use chlorothalonil (Bravo) in a spray program with this product on grapes, ornamentals and strawberries.

DO NOT use dicofol (Kelthane) in a spray program with this product on ornamentals and strawberries.

DO NOT use propargite (Omite) with an oil spray or within 30 days before or after an oil spray.

This product has not been tested on all species or varieties. Before treating a large area, treat a small area and observe prior to full scale application.

Protect painted surfaces, carpets, and furnishings from overspray as this product may cause discoloration.

    Superior to Bonide

    By Sandy on 10/23/2012

    Verified Purchase

I know this is quite a bit of material but I live in Florida and there is no doubt I'll use it. More importantly, after persistently and consistently applying Bonide for a month to my Sago Pines with very little results, I applied this last weekend and cannot believe my eyes. In one application, I have seen significant improvement. I plan to use the product on some additional bushes and a tree with fungus around the house now that I know this product works. This product definitely worked well.

Quality product, hard to find locally

    By Orly on 03/08/2019

I'm very happy that I'm able to actually order the product that's in stock for one. And a pretty fairly decent delivery time. Locally the products offered here in very low quality if you can even find anything close in stock even for a grower... Good quality dormant and summer oil that we plan to use every year on our farm. Thanks.

    Ultra-Pure Oil for Chicken Mites

    By Kim on 04/14/2018

I use this oil mixed with EcoVia, an organic thyme and rosemary product, to keep chicken mites out of my hen house. I once had a terrible infestation but we are now mite free and my birds are happy and healthy. I highly recommend this treatment for a poison free alternative to mites. It is also good for other insects, even on plants. The combination is amazing.

Q
Is the ratio different for Ultra-Pure Oil Horticultural Insecticide, Miticide, and Fungicide for backyard orchard spraying?

I see the ratio for apples is: "Use 1 - 2 gal per 100 gal of water at 100 - 800 gal per acre. (Concentrate Spray: Use 3 - 8 gal per acre in a minimum of 20 - 100 gal water per acre.)" I will need ~20 gallons of water to spray my apple trees. Will I really need 3 gallons of spray for 20 gallons of water? Is this ratio on the label for commercial sprayers?

A

The product label for the Ultra-Pure Oil Horticultural Insecticide, Miticide and Fungicide will give rates per Acre since it is designed for commercial applications. If you are treating a smaller area, than you would need to calculate the correct amount of concentrate for the area that you need to treat, and then use sufficient water for your application. If you only have a few trees to treat, we do sell several other horticultural oils that may be easier to measure. Monterey Horticultural Oil comes in several different sizes, and you would use 2.5 to 5 ounces per gallon of water to treat Apples.
