Product Overview

Protect-a-bed AllerZip pillow encasements protect pillows against bed bugs, allergens, dust mites, dirt and liquids. Unprotected pillows create the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and dust mites, or provide harborage for bed bugs. Now you can protect these sensitive areas with Protect-a-Bed pillow encasements. Each encasement is machine washable and made of soft, terry cotton so your pillows remain cool and comfortable to sleep on. Each pack contains two king size (21" x 37") pillow encasements.

Details

Protect-a-Bed Pillow encasements are a recommended addition to any bed bug treatment program. You will still need to treat infested areas of the bedrooms. However, because the #1 breeding ground for bed bugs is the mattress, box spring and pillow you can now just spray and then zip up these critical areas which will eliminate a large part of the infestation. In addition, this can save an infested pillow so you don't have to throw it out and buy a replacement. Any eggs and/or bed bugs trapped in the encasement will eventually die. If you should find bed bugs on your bedding again at some point in the future, treatment would be as easy as taking off the encasement and washing it in hot water.

We recommend spraying an infested pillow with a bed bug control product, such as Steri-Fab first (or you may launder at temperatures greater than 120 degrees) before encasing it and then keeping the pillow encasements intact for at least 12 months (bed bugs can live a very long time without a blood meal). The bed bugs and eggs inside will die, and the pillows will be protected from further infestation.

Washing Instructions

Please wash and tumbledry the protector before using it the first time as this softens the product, improves the flexibility and eliminates any packaging odors.

Washing:

  • Please DO NOT use any bleach, bleach alternatives, non-chlorine bleach or any bleach by products in the detergent, as this will destroy the polyurethane lining.

  • The Protector can be washed in hot water

  • Please DO NOT dry clean

Drying:

  • Please dry together with some other bed linen or towels. The protector can be tumble dried on a medium heat for about 40 minutes (longer if needed - depending on your dryer)

  • Careful drying will prevent blistering of the lining. If blisters do form from overheating of the dryer, please discontinue using the protector, as these blisters will split open and lead to the protector leaking.
  • DO NOT dry clean
  • DO NOT bleach
  • Maching wash hot
  • Tumble dry medium
  • DO NOT iron
  • Close zipper to 12 inches from
    closed position for washing
    and drying
