    Q
How many of the ProPest Pheronet Pantry Pest Traps can I put in a 2500 sqft house?
Some info says don't put out too many of these, one 1 or 2 at most as more will confuse moths. But the package says one every 100 square feet. I have 2500 sqft and am seeing these moths everywhere
    A
Per the manufacturer you should not use more than 2 ProPest Pheronet traps in your home at a time. Using more than the recommended number of traps can make your home oversaturated with the attractant and the moths will become confused and will not enter the traps.  You can place one per floor but putting more out would not be recommended.

    Q
Is there any odor associated with the ProPest Pheronet Pantry Pest Traps?
Just curious if there are any odor to these traps as I would like to use them in my cigar humidor to catch the cigarette beetles (if there are any).
    A
No, the ProPest Pheronet Pantry Pest Trap is virtually odorless. We say virtually odorless because as with most products that contain adhesives there is a very faint smell from the adhesive itself.

    Q
Will the pro pest pheronet trap work for drug store beetles?
    A
The ProPest Pheronet Pantry Pest Trap will work for the following pantry pests: Indian Meal Moths, Mediterranean Flour Moths, Almond Moths, Raisin Moths and Cigarette Beetles. We do not carry a trap that is specifically labeled for drugstore beetles but the Pantry Patrol Beetle Trap has been reported by some customers to lure drugstore beetles.  We also recommend you purchase an aerosol insecticide such as D-Force HPX to treat all of the cracks and crevices where the larva could be developing.

    Q
Are the ProPest Pheronet Pantry moth traps toxic to humans?
    A

No the ProPest Pheronet Pantry Pest Traps are not toxic to humans.  They are constructed of cardboard or paper, lined on the inside with a pheromone impregnated glue strip. The insect sex pheromones powerfully attract the male moths, trapping and killing them. Thus, mating is disrupted to the point of eventual control.

    Q
    Are your moth strips guaranteed?
I've had a moth problem for a year now. I thought I got rid of them, but the traps keep showing more moths! :( So I was wondering if there was a guarantee on your moth strips?
    A
If you are still seeing moths on the traps, that shows that the traps are working since you are catching them. If you are continually having a moth problem, it is because you have not eliminated the larvae and taken the additonal steps needed to eliminate them. Moth traps normally have a pheromone that attracts the MALE moths only to the traps. This can help break up the reproductive cycle by only attracting the males but it will not trap the females. The larvae of the moths could be left in many different cracks and crevices throughout the home so knowing exactly what type of moth you have helps know where to look for larvae. It can take a long time to eliminate each life cycle that develops if the source of larvae is not found. Everything where you see moths should be thoroughly cleaned out and anything that seems contaminated thrown away promptly. Remove all food from cubbards and pantries and clean out shelves with some type of cleaning chemical. It it wise to spray a residual crack and crevice aerosol like Cy-Kick while your cabinets are empty into the edges where larvae can hide. Once dry, it is completely safe to place all of your food and utensils back in the cabinets. If you are dealing with clothes moths and not some form of pantry moth, you need to wash or dry clean all wool clothing and fabrics they would be attracted to and seal them up tightly. You would then treat dressers and closets in the same fashion as the cabinets and pantries. While we want you to be satisfied with the traps you are using, we do not have a full money back guarantee on the products as we can not insure that every customer will do all the steps required for their situation and use the products accordingly. The traps alone will not solve anyones moth problem and would be just 1 part of an ongoing treatment process. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Will the ProPest Pheronet Pantry Pest Traps work on Carpet Beetles as well?
    A

Unfortunately, the ProPest Pheronet Pantry Pest Trap is not labeled to be used for carpet beetles. We would recommend using a product like Talstar P. Also vacuuming is th best way to ensure there is minimal food for the larvae to feed on, and helps to remove the larvae and adult beetles already in your home.

    Q
Do the ProPest Pheronet Pantry Pest Traps work for catching rat mites? I need to catch one for identification purposes.
    A

ProPest Pheronet Pantry Pest Traps are only going to attract male pantry pests. Rodent mites may feed on humans if unable to find a rodent host, but they will evenually die off as they cannot reproduce without that host.  That is why finding and eliminating the source is the first step in treatment. You can try on glueboards that have no attractant such as the Trapper Max Free Glueboards.
