    Can PT221L be sprayed down the drain where springtails appear in the sink?
    Springtails are appearing in my tub and sink. They may be coming from my septic tank.
    A

    PT 221L cannot be sprayed down drains. Springtails would not be coming from the drains unless there is a crack somewhere in the pipes that allows them to get in.  Most times people see springtails coming out of the drains after they are just gone down to get moisture. Springtails indicate that there is a moisture issue because they breed in walls or under slabs where a moisture issue may exist.  Typically, pesticides alone will not take care of a springtail problem.  It is required to fix whatever moisture issue is causing the problem. Please view our article "How to get Rid of Springtails".     Is the 221L product an aerosol that is appropriate for carpenter bees?

    Yes, PT 221L Aerosol is a great option for Carpenter Bee Control. It is a residual aerosol that is specifically labeled for Carpenter Bees. Make sure to spray up inside the Carpenter Bee hole and spray the surrounding areas as well.

    Is PT 221L Residual Aerosol safe to be around once it has dried?

    Yes, as long as PT 221L is being applied as the label states, and you allow the product to dry it will be completely safe for humans and animals to inhabit the area again.

    Is PT 221L Residual Aerosol good to get rid of bed bugs?
    A

    PT 221L Residual Aerosol is labeled for bed bugs. This can be used on the tufts and seams of the mattress every 10-14 days. We would not recommend this being the only thing you are using for a bed bug treatment. One of our Bed Bug Kits is a great option for use in your home.

    Is PT 221L considered a non-repellent spray?
    If used in an area where house ants may enter (but are not yet present) will it cause the colony to bud when ants contact the treated area?

    PT 221L Residual Aerosol - 17.5 oz. can would not be considered a true repellent to keep insects out.  It would only be slightly repellent for a few days after application.  Instead it is meant to provide a long residual to continue to kill insects that contact a treated surface.

    Does PT 221L Residual Aerosol kill hornets and wasps?
    A

    PT 221L Residual Aerosol is labeled to kill wood wasps, but not hornets. This is a non-selective insecticide (lambda-cyhalothrin), so it would affect these insects if you were able to contact them, however it does not offer the quick knockdown that would be preferred for flying, stinging insects. We do sell an excellent Wasp and Hornet Control Kit which contains the ready-to-use Wasp-X and Temprid SC. The Wasp-X will have a fast kill than something like the PT 221L, plus it has a unique foaming action to expand and cover nests and residual activity. Temprid SC is a liquid concentrate that is diluted with water and applied with a pump sprayer in areas where insects may be likely to enter the structure.

    Is there a liquid concentrate alternative to PT 221L?
    A

    The active ingredient found in PT 221L Residual Aerosol is lambda-cyhalothrin.  That same active ingredient can be found in a liquid concentrate called Cyzmic CS.

    Am I supposed to vacate the house while PT 221L Residual Aerosol is being applied?
    My pest control service man said I could stay in the house, just to open a window and avoid touching it until it dried

    When applying, PT 221L Residual Aerosol the product label only states to NOT apply in hospital patient rooms, classrooms, libraries, sports facilities, etc when occupants are present. 
     
    "DO NOT apply in hospital patient rooms while occupied or in any rooms occupied by the elderly or infirm. DO NOT apply to classrooms when in use. DO NOT apply to institutions (including libraries, sport facilities, etc.) in the immediate area when occupants are present."

    I ordered PT 221 and survivors to treat springtails in my kitchen, how do I use the PT 221?
    Can I spray down drain or do I spray directly to baseboards and behind sink?

    PT 221L Residual Aerosol is going to be applied as a crack and crevice and spot treatment. We do not suggest applying down the drain or any sinks. You can treat the baseboards also.     How often should PT 221L Residual Aerosol be applied?
    Once it dries, I'm wondering how long it is effective before it needs to be re-applied. Also, how long does it take to dry indoors so I know how long to keep kids and pets out of the house?

    Reapplication of PT 221L Residual Aerosol may be made at 7 day intervals. Pets and children can return to the treated areas once the application is dry, which may be around an hour.

    Someone we hired applied this product into our pantry cabinets. Is this safe?

    PT 221L Residual Aerosol should be used as directed on the manufacturer's product label, which states to avoid contaminating food, food utensils or food preparation areas when applying.  All food items, dishes and utensils should first be removed before applying this product in kitchen pantries or cabinets.
