    Q
How does Vole Scram Professional help to control vole infestation? I need a product to keep the voles out of my property
My property is next to an agricultural field.
    A
Vole Scram Professional makes tunnels and soil smell bad to voles, and also makes vegetation (roots, foliage, stems, seeds, tubers and bulbs) taste bad to the voles. Vole Scram changes the voles' normal environment to drive them out of infested garden beds, lawns, and turf. This product contains natural ingredients that are formulated to coat a voles’ food source with a bad taste. This product won't harm people or animals and doesn't wash away with the rain. Non toxic and environmentally safe.

    Q
How often does Vole Scram have to be applied? Does it really work?
I have tried numerous products but none have worked. Voles are worse than ever. Would bait be better to try and kill them? If so what bait? - Love your company - I'm a repeat customer. : )
    A

    We appreciate your business!

Vole Scram is applied either with a broadcast spreader or by hand with the provided scoop in beds, mulch or rough grass. If it is used as directed, it will work.

For Northern Snowfall Regions: In early September/Octorer, apply a 20 foot band to the perimeter of the property where the voles nest during the summer months. This will reduce them from entering the property. With your second application, which is done in 14 days after first application, prior to snowfall. A third application should be done in early spring/late winder immediately after snow melts.

Midwest/Southern Regions: Apply 2 applications, 2 weeks apart, to areas showing vole damage. Repeat after 30 days after second application.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

  • Asked by K. from Mount Pleasant, Sc

    Q
Should I Bait & Trap Existing Voles or Use Vole Scram first?
Our yard is full of voles. I see 2 different recommendations: the first is to bait and trap if you already have voles, the second is to use the Vole Scram Professional. With existing voles tearing up our yard ... what should I do first?
    A

We would recommend doing one or the other depending on your personal preference. Since they are already there, using bait may be the best option if you know where their tunnels are. Kaput Rat & Mouse Bait imitates the natural food source for rodents voles by being manufactured as a loose grain. Open pack and load one ounce (half of a pack) of bait into each bait station. Situate bait stations near runways, burrow openings or plants that voles have been damaging. Maintain a fresh supply of bait for 15 days. Use a tamper-resistant bait station when children, pets, or non-target wildlife are present.

    Q
Will Vole Scram Professional work if voles are already invading the yard?
    A

If voles have currently infested the yard, you have options for treatment with either using a repellent like Vole Scram Professional or by using a rodent bait in tamper resistant bait stations where there are active tunnels. This is based on personal preference. For large or higher vole populations, baiting may be more effective to knockdown the population before using a repellent. Baiting with Kaput Rat & Mouse Bait in tamper resistant bait stations would be recommended near near runways, burrow openings or plants that voles have been damaging. This bait is a loose grain bait that imitates the natural food source for rodent voles.  Maintain a fresh supply of bait for 15 days.

Vole Scram Professional will alter the smell and taste of soil and vegetation to taste bad therefore changes the voles’ normal environment to drive them out of the infested areas. The natural ingredients in the repellent will coat vegetation and food sources with a bad taste.

Please the Vole Treatment Guide for more information.

    Q
Is Vole Scram Professional stronger than the regular that is available at stores?
    A

We cannot compare Vole Scram Professional to store products because we are unfamiliar with those products and their ingredients since we do not sell them. These are professional grade products so they are considered stronger. We recommend you take a look at the labels for both products to see which would better suit you.

    Q
I have a Scotts Turf Builder Edgeguard mini seed spreader and would like to know what setting to set it at?
    A

We apologize, but the Vole Scram Professional label does not list your model spreader settings.  To figure out how to apply it with your particular spreader, we would recommend for you to watch the video in our spreaders page (scroll all the way to the bottom) to learn how to callibrate your spreader correctly.  You could also call the manufacturer directly at 877-337-2726 for assistance.

  • Asked by Lynn from Plainfield, Il
    10/21/2016
    Q
Is there a photo or drawing of how to spread Vole Scram Professional by hand?
I need to know how much to apply by hand. When using Preen and similar products there are diagrams on the label and online of how to apply, the hand application rate. It shows how close granules are so that the user knows thickly to apply it, and thus does not put on too much or too little. I would be very appreciative of an answer to this question as soon as possible. Thank you so very much.
    A

We do apologize but we do not have any such pictures to provide for the Vole Scram Professional. You can apply it by hand with the scoop provided inside the pail.  You would apply 1 lb per 600 sqft, applying a 20 foot band around the perimeter of the property.  You could try reaching out to the manufacturer to see if they have a diagram they can provide, EPIC can be reached 877-337-2726. This product sheet does have an additional visual aide, as well.

    Q
After the 3rd application, how often should Vole Scram Professional be re-applied to keep voles away?

Vole Scram Professional application recommendations are as follows:

For Northern Snowfall Regions: In early September/Octorer, apply a 20 foot band to the perimeter of the property where the voles nest during the summer months. Q
How does Vole Scram Professional compare to the regular (not Professional) VoleScram product?
I used Mole Scram (not the Professional type) per instructions and it did not work. (Moles left eventually, but not until after major pest control interventions.) I would need at least 22lbs. of Vole Scram Professional per application and am worried about the cost, and if I would be wasting my $.
    A

Vole Scram Professional works great when used as directed. We apologize we are not familiar with the product you are comparing it to. Please call us at 866-581-7378 to better help you troubleshoot. We also sell excellent baits and traps for voles, which we would recommend if you already have voles in the area that you need to treat.
