I have tried Talstar. Left a tick in it for 24 hours and was still alive, maybe it was old but killed other bugs. Please help. I am a breeder of Shih Tzu and the tick problem is out of control and now they are in the house. Thank you
Talstar is not a contact kill and it can take a few days for an insect to die after contacting it. We would recommend using the Tick Control Kit. It is labeled to treat for flies, fleas and ticks. These products are safe to use inside as well as outside. Once the product is dry, it is safe so your dogs and grandchildren will be perfectly fine as long as they are not in the area when the product is being sprayed. Treatments can be done every 14 days until the fleas and ticks are eradicated. After that, for regular treatments, spraying every 30 days is enough. You also want to be sure that the dogs are being treated for ticks as well by whatever your vet recommends but the Permethrin in the kit can be used as a dip.
