When applying Bora-Care and Bora-Care w/ Mold Care to dry wood, is it recommended to spray the wood surface with plain water before application?

Treating crawl space and concerned with how this product will absorb into dry wood. Previously, when I have sprayed solutions to dry wood, the liquid beads up and runs off but eventually will soak in after a while.

Answer:

No, you would not pre-soak or saturate the wood prior to application of Bora-Care or Bora-Care with Mold Care. You will need to thoroughly saturate the wood, but not to the point of run off with the mixed solution. The easiest method is to apply using paint brush or roller to ensure full absorption. If the wood is pressure treated already or had any type of water sealant applied, this will cause beading and running off, even if the wood is old and dry looking. Boracare will not absorb into pressure treated, stained, or painted surfaces. If this wood is pressure treated, you will need to drill into the wood and inject the solution according to the product label.
