Q&A Home

Ryan from Riverside Nevada writes,

Will Vegetable Weeder work in a melon patch to kill grasses and broad leaf weeds but not damage the melons?

Vegetable and Ornamental Weeder is a pre-emergent herbicide that helps to control grasses and broadleaf weeds before they emerge.  It will not kill any actively growing weeds.  Once the weeds have emerged you would need to use the main product used for weeds and grasses in an edible garden is a Roundup type product, like our RoundUp QuickPro product or the all natural product Avenger.  These products do not leave a residual that could possibly be soaked up by the roots of your garden.  Of course you do not want to get the RoundUp or Avenger product on any plants you want to keep.  You should only direct it at the weeds you want to get rid of.
