This kit was put together using the most current research and it contains the most effective products on the market to rid you of a bedbug infestation. Each kit includes a copy of our five page bedbug guide to help you through the treatment process.
Why do I need to use so many different products?
It is important to treat the many different areas that bedbugs hide. Each product included in the kit has a specific function to help eliminate a bedbug infestation.
Kit Contents:
FenvaStar EcoCap (8 oz): FenvaStar EcoCap is a microencapsulated product containing Esfenvalerate (3.5%). Featuring the EcoCap technology FenvaStar EcoCap is made using a renewable vegetable oil instead of petroleum resulting in almost no odor and no VOCs. This enviromentally responsible pest control product will still quickly knockdown bed bugs. Apply Fenvastar EcoCap as a spot treatment to potential harborage sites and migration paths, and cracks and crevices, around baseboards, floorboards, headboards, and walls.
***Do NOT apply to furniture surfaces or mattresses where people will be laying or sitting. Infested bedding should not be treated with insecticides, but should be removed, placed in sealed plastic bags, and taken for laundering and drying at high temperatures.***
Cimexa Dust for Bed Bugs (4 oz. bottle): Dusts are great for applying under baseboards around the room,(this stops bedbugs from fleeing the room and spreading to other areas) for dusting on and inside the box spring itself, and for dusting in cracks and crevices where liquids may not go (such as in and behind picture frames, underneath furniture, in the cracks of dresser drawers, and in the joints cracks and hollow tubing of bed frames, etc). Dust is best applied with the hand duster that is included with your kit. Apply in a fine coating on surfaces, and do not over-dust. Leaving piles of dust will just cause the insect to walk around the dust and not through it.
Bellows Hand Duster: The bellows hand duster included with this kit should be used to apply the dust to any cracks and crevices needed. By using the bellows hand duster you will be able to apply the correct amount of dust in the correct place.
Bedlam (17 oz): Bedlam comes in a convenient aerosol spray that may be sprayed on areas that other products cannot. Bedlam may be used for spot treatments on mattresses, upholstered furniture, drawers, bed frames, carpeted areas, curtains… You may also use Bedlam to knock down fleeing bedbugs after initial treatment of other insecticides. Includes a straw tool for spraying into small cracks, crevices and other hiding places.
Steri-Fab: Steri-Fab is an alcohol based product that will evaporate after 10-20 minutes and leave no residual effect. Steri-Fab may be sprayed on almost any surface including those sensitive areas that you were not able to treat with other products.(Mattresses, sofas, bedding, dog beds, etc) This product is one of the only products that recent research shows will kill bedbug eggs. Application: Spray in areas of bedbug activity, such as tufts and folds of mattresses, sofas, etc. (Steri-Fab must come in direct contact with bedbugs and bedbug eggs to be effective).
Step-by-Step Bed Bug Treatment Guide : Five pages with pictures and information on how and where to use every product in your kit.
Recommended Accessories:
One Gallon Sprayer - If your kit comes with Equil Lambda Insecticide we strongly recommend that you purchase a one gallon sprayer if you do not already have one. This sprayer makes mixing and applying liquid insecticides so much easier.
Bed Bug Mattress Cover / Box Spring Cover - Using a good quality bed bug proof mattress cover and box spring cover will allow you to protect and save your mattress and box spring from further infestation. The covers we sell are certified 100% bed bug bite proof and escape proof.

Great Peace of Mind

This set of products is the same stuff that professionals use!!! I had a pest control company charge me $450 to treat my upstairs for Bed Bugs. They did a great job and I've had no further problems. After they left I searched the chemicals they used and discovered DoMyOwnPestControl.com and the Bed Bug Kit#2. I looked at the description on my receipt from the Pest Control Company and they used the exact same stuff in Bed Bug Kit to treat my upstairs. I felt so relieved to have found this bundled product and purchased it in case I have another infestation. It feels great to have the ability to kill BedBugs if they come back. I also purchased Mattress and Box Spring Covers, Phantom Aerosol Spray and Diatomaceous Earth. The pest Control Company also used the Phantom Spray. I slept on a couch downstairs after I threw out my bed. I thought I saw a bed bug on it and it was nice to have the products to treat it. Now I am fully armed if another infestation happens. My order was quickly processed and I received it in three days. I could not be happier with DoMyOwnPestControl.com. They were a beacon of light during a dark time of despair. If you are suffering a BedBug infestation you are not helpless, buy the products and get your life back.

I have started using this product and so far, it is wonderful. It beats paying $1000 to a pest control and they do the same thing we did( but we did it better) taking our time....Thanks so much for sending this. I'm glad that we chose to do it ourselves first!

Bed bug kit 2

Im working on my 3rd treatment, as its been about 6 weeks. I will say that I am treating two areas simultaneously, my boyfriends apartment and my room at my families. The good news is that there seems to be plenty to go around, and for multiple continuous treatments for my place and his. Downside is that it doesn't seem to be working; I cannot get any relief from these pests. My skin reacts horribly to the bites and there is swelling involved. At one point there were bites above one of my eyes and it had swollen ( think hunch back of Notre Dome). Or heres something I haven't read in any reviews ( and I've read a lot of them) the breakfast, lunch and dinner bites appearing on my tongue, yeah I sleep with my mouth open. I am definitely at my wits end. And Im losing so much sleep over this and I don't even have an infestation. I've been at my place for 16 years, and this year is the first time I've ever had a problem like this. My next move is to purchase the mattress and box spring covers and apply treatment to both vehicles. I will update later but as of right now I am NOT happy.

Bed Bugs are Blown Away
By Katherine on November 7, 2012We were dealing with bites for most of the summer, but even several visits to the doctor didn't clear things up. When I discovered a bed bug crawling across my lap one night, well...I wanted to move. I was beyond skeeved out. Let me give you an idea of my situation: single mom of 3, disabled due to a serious back injury, a few other obnoxious health issues that cause severe fatigue, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and I homeschool my 12 year old daughter. We live in a townhouse that has 4 units in a building - so my townhome connects to two other homes. I spent a week or so doing intensive research...and I was overwhelmed before I even got going. I compared prices, product information, and online reviews. DoMyOwnPestControl.com shipped VERY quickly. I was grateful for the quick shipping as I didn't want to spend one extra minute with these nasty beasties crawling around. One thing that sold me on buying here, rather than some other company offering an almost identical kit, was the informational PDF they offer on the site. I loved having someone experienced in this stuff give me a little of their advice. (A national pest control company wanted $850 PER VISIT - for THREE visits - to get rid of these things. I just couldn't afford that.) They also include this helpful information in each kit they send out. Take advantage of that. Spend a few minutes reading it online, then refresh the info when it arrives. I promise it will make a big difference in making your job a lot easier! I was absolutely shocked where I found bed bugs. I was deeply disappointed when the "home remedies" I found online just didn't work. (It WILL kill them to put them in a SEALED Ziploc bag and then put the bag in the freezer for several days. All of the live bugs I find go into a Ziploc bag. It's quick and easy - plus you can look at them closely, if interested. They are kind of cool...*when stuck behind the barrier of a sealed Ziploc bag*!) Spraying an infestation (or harborage) of bugs with alcohol does NOT work. I don't care if you use 70% or 90% isopropyl alcohol or the green alcohol. Alcohol does NOT work. It stuns them for a few minutes, long enough to stick them in a sealed bag - but trust me. They come back to life. Quickly. I feel this kit covers all your bases. After THOROUGHLY vacuuming each part of the bed (box springs and mattress), I sprayed all the surfaces of each bed. (I also steamed the beds with a steamer I bought for this purpose.) When it was all dry, into encasements went the matresses and box springs. I then thoroughly vacuumed the carpet all around the bed, including using the crevice attachment to really clean around the baseboards. I sprayed, sprinkled, and squeezed the various sprays and powders, as instructed. I purchased the Chapin 1 Gallon Pump Sprayer separately and used that to apply the FenvaStar EcoCap. I was conscientious about applying stuff everywhere - I took drawers out of dressers and thoroughly treated everything. I used a cheap 1" paintbrush to help spread the CimeXa Insecticide Dust - which helped get the dust in all the cracks and crevices. The bellows was helpful to get the CimeXa into light switches and wall sockets. (Be VERY careful when using this bellows to administer insecticide in light switches, etc - just sticking something metal into a junction box full of metal wires and parts is NOT smart.) My townhouse is about 1800 sq ft at this kit seems like it will be enough to treat the house 3 times, as instructed. It's a huge pain in the neck. HUGE. To cut down on the amount of work, I did throw some things away - books and other things that were impossible to clean. I also got rid of a lot of stuffed animals my kids had. Yes, they can go in the dryer to get rid of the nasty beasts - but I was already tasked with rewashing ALL our clothes anyway...I wasn't interested in treating old toys and things the kids didn't care about anyway. And as much as I love my books, I love living in a bed bug free space more! Bottom line: I would DEFINITELY purchase this kit again. I think this size kit is good to treat approx 1800 sq ft 3 times. None of the products give off a terrible smell. The combination of items stop the bed bugs in their tracks. I still recommend placing any live bugs you find in a SEALED Ziploc bag - you don't want them crawling out of the trash and attacking you again...or worse, having eggs! Make sure you empty you vacuum bag or cup as soon as you're done vacuuming - I placed the contents into a small trash bag which I then sealed with tape. These guys are tricky and crafty - they will survive almost anything. This complete kit however, will give you the upper hand. Since bed bugs don't eat anything but blood (preferably human), regular pesticides will not kill them. They won't eat it. It must be something they come into contact with (or walk through) so it can dehydrate them and cause their demise. Just keep at it - you CAN win. Oh - and if you have questions, call DoMyOwnPestControl.com - they are extremely helpful and nice. If you have to deal with bed bugs, this is the place and kit to do it with. I'm very satisfied. PS: I added all the additional information because I wish someone had shared it with me while I was trying to research this issue. I apologize if that makes the review hard to read. In case it wasn't clear, I give DoMyOwnPestControl.com an A, as well as their Bed Bug Kit #2.

By Deborah on September 12, 2012Great products when used properly; it's been 2 weeks and we are bug free We weren't sure we had bed bugs. Had a termite inspector in who said he saw no evidence other than that we were being bitten. It only took one treatment for these bugs to surface and we zapped and powdered them dead!! Great feeling to be free of them.

I'm still using the products, I've been 5 weeks without a bite. The selection seems very good, the chemical composition is varied and hopefully will get rid of the pests. From my research, the products cover the spectrum of pesticides that should eradicate bedbugs. It is important to continue using them even after no further evidence of infestation is evident.

Good stuff. Works exactly like the advertisement says. We liked the Bedlam insecticide (if you can find them), and Pyganic dust for residual effect. For our situation they worked the best.

QI need to buy bed bug products but want it shipped in nondescript package. Is that possible?
I don't want it know I am purchasing something for bed bugs. I need a package that says nothing on it but my name and a return address of your company but nothing about bugs!
AOur packaging is plain brown boxes or priority mail boxes. The return shipping label usually does say our name, but upon customer request it will just say Shipping, Shipping. Please let us know if you would like help placing an order.

QHow often and when to apply which product of the kit
Hi, I'm looking for an end to end solution for bedbugs in my flat "1 bedroom + 1 living room". I don't have any heavy furniture like couch or bed however, there is a floor to floor carpet. Please let me know the order of application of the products in this kit (which product to apply first and which one next) and the number of kits that will be required to remove the infestation from my flat completely. I'm seeing 1-2 bed bugs in 2-3 days.
AOne Bedbug Kit #2 should be enough product to treat 2 average sized rooms with a moderate amount of belongings. Very large rooms or those rooms that have lots of furniture or items that need to be treated may require additional products. Please take a few moments to read over our Bed Bug Guide which is included with ever bedbug kit purchase. This guide will explain how and when to treat and it will also highlight 'hot spot' areas that may need extra attention. We recommend that you treat every 7-10 days with the sprays (the dust only needs to be applied every 6 months unless it is displaced). The order that you apply the products is completely up to you. There is no magic number of products or treatments that will eliminate bed bugs completely. The key to eliminating the infestation is to be super through. Once you are able to go 30 days with no bites and no evidence of bed bugs on visual inspections, you are considered bedbug free.
March 12, 2011 Robin asked:
QGot a few bedbug bites and applied Phantom liquid everywhere. Now what should I do?
... now it is a week later. Is it safe or wise to apply Bedlam or other liquids before dusting, etc.?
AWe do not recommend spraying Bedlam over areas where you have already applied Phantom. If you apply a repellent insecticide, such as Bedlam, over the same area where you have sprayed Phantom you will ruin the non-repellent properties of Phantom. The idea behind using Phantom is that the bedbugs will not be able to detect where you have applied the product so they will not be able to avoid the treated area and there is no known bedbug resistance to the active ingredient in Phantom.
September 16, 2010 Geka asked:
QWe are early in the game in regard to bedbugs. What would you suggest we use? Is DE a good product?
We had a few nights with bedbug bites. We moved to a safe bedroom, and we want to be proactive. A pest control operator was here, and he could not find any. He was ready to treat with all sorts of things. We would have a lot to do before they came in and it seemed monumental. What do you suggest?
AThere are no short cuts when it comes to bedbug elimination. A few bedbugs can become a plethora of bedbugs in very short order and you need to be proactive. All of the pretreatment requirements that your pest control operator spoke to you about such as washing and bagging your clothes, removing clutter and etc is just that , is a requirement. DE does a good job, but it works much to slowly to be used alone; it can take over a week to kill a bedbug after it has been in contact with DE.We have several different sizes of bedbugs kits that contain the products we recommend for doing a proper treatment. We do not recommend changing rooms. You will end up having the bedbugs scatter to different areas of your home as they try to find a meal. Just finding bumps on your body is not indicative of bedbugs. Bumps could be an allergic reaction to something or a mosquito bite, not necessarily bedbugs. Bedbugs are not invisible, and you should be able to find evidence of an infestation. Try sleeping with solid, light colored sheets and inspecting them in the morning for blood spots.
June 12, 2010 Kim asked:
QHow often and how many times do I have to treat my home to get rid of bedbugs?
I am using Drione dust.
AFirst, using powders or dusts alone will not effectively get rid of a bedbug infestation. Insecticide dusts and powders take about a week to actually kill insects and in that time the bedbugs can still bite and reproduce. We offer bedbug kits that contain all of the different products you need to eliminate bedbugs and retreatments should be done every 7-10 days until you do not receive a bite for 30 days. Most dusts only need to be applied once every few months and unless you vacuumed. We also highly recommend using mattress and boxspring encasements to help eliminate bedbug infestations. These bedbug proof covers will trap existing bedbugs and eliminate hiding places and make inspections easier.

Xavier from Orlando, Florida asked:
QI live in an 2br2ba apartment. How should I go about eliminating bed bugs? which kit do you recommend?

Pilar from Chevy Chase, Md asked:
QDo I Need Separate Sprayer for Different Chemical Applications of the Bed Bug Kit?
We purchased a 1 gallon Chapin sprayer a few summers ago for mosquito control. I believe the pesticide is called Demon. Now we have a bed bug issue - do I need a seperate sprayer or can we use the same sprayer for different applications?
AYou can use the same sprayer but you should rinse it out three time before using the Fenvastar for the bedbug treatment.

Khadijah from Newark, Nj asked:
QDo you recommend a bed bug kit or purchasing Bedlam, PyGanic 1% dust, and Onslaught?
I am 8.5 months pregnant and completely terrified of bringing my baby home. I have been suffering with the bites for 3 weeks now, and I just found two bugs in my bed although I didn't see any when I did the tape test 2 weeks ago. I haven't been to sleep since spotting the bugs.
A Best option for bed bugs is our bed bug kits, which come with the best products out right now that should be used by a professional company that knows what they are doing. All of our kits come with full instructions on how and where to apply each product in the kit. The kits have a high success rate when used as directed. We also have lots of treatment information on our website.

Sylvia from Jersey City, Nj asked:
QDo you have a product to kill both bedbugs and roaches?
ABoth the Equil Lambda and the Eco PCO D-X Dust - 10 oz. are included in our bedbug kits and they are both labeled for use on bedbugs and roaches. You must read and follow the product labels as the application for roaches vs bedbugs is completely different. We would also recommend you use a roach bait gel along with the products that come in the bedbug kits to help eliminate the roaches.
October 24, 2011
Leah from Lakewood Nj asked:
QWill the Bedbugt Kits still be effective even if the home is vacant?
AThorough applications of the products in any of our bedbug kits directly into cracks and crevices will still kill bedbugs. It is true that the bedbugs may be less active and it can take longer to eliminate the bedbugs if the home is vacant but they will eventually start moving around looking for a food source and they will cross through deposited materials.

Robb from Athens,ga. asked:
QHow to treat for bedbugs bites?
AWe specialize in eliminating the bedbugs themselves but we do not give advice on how to heal the bites. We recommend that you contact your doctor for advice on how to relieve the bite. If you need help eliminating the bedbugs from your home we suggest using one of our bedbug kits.
July 14, 2011 Skye. asked:
QWhat can I use to get rid of spiders in 1930s house and moths in closet and possibly bed bugs?
we have pets and people with health issues, auto-immune and asmatic. Very limited budget and abilities...HELP! What do we use and how do we do it?
AWe recommend that you contact a reputable pest control company in your area and request a free pest inspection so that you know for sure what type of insects you are dealing with. You don't have to hire the company but they can tell what type of moths you have and whether or not you have bedbugs. We are very reluctant to give product recommendations to families that have auto-immune problems or are asthmatic because we do not know what might cause issues for those folks. Before using any type of product you need to consult with their doctor to be sure the product will not have adverse effects on them. If you do find that you have bedbugs you can use either our bedbug kit 2 or bedbug kit 3 as it comes with all of the products you need to use to eliminate this pest. The same products will also help you eliminate spiders and moths. Please take a few moments to read over our pest control articles on bedbugs, clothes moths, spiders and Integrated Pest Management (controlling insects with limited use of chemicals).
June 8, 2011 Debbie asked:
QIs there an aerosol or concentrated product that I can spray into wall cracks for bed bugs?
I need a product that will seep into the cracks of ceilings and floor boards that will kill the hiding bed bugs.
AWe carry a great deal of products that kill bedbugs and can be sprayed in the areas you indicated. We recommend that you use one of our Bedbug Kits which come with all of the products you will need to do a complete bedbug treatment plus the follow up treatments that will be needed. To see all of the products we carry for bedbugs go to our homepage and click on the Bedbug tab at the top of the page.
June 1, 2011 Marty asked:
QWhat would you recommend for getting rid of bedbugs in a home?
We rent a 2 bedroom trailer and found it had bedbugs in the carpet and now our bed. Need a product for getting rid of them with guarantee that works.
AWe recommend using a bedbug kit. The Bed Bug Kit #2 provides you with the professional products necessary to do a complete bed bug treatment in your home. This kit has just the right balance of products to treat at least two rooms completely, plus enough to do the several follow-up treatments that are crucial to success. Unlike other kits you may find, the Do My Own Pest Control kits contain the most effective products available based on the most current research. This kit contains 1 x 8 oz. bottle of Equil Lambda 9.7 CS concentrate (makes 20 gallons), 1 x 10oz. bottle of PyGanic Dust with Pyrethrins, 1 hand dusting tool, 2 x 17 oz. cans of Bedlam Bed Bug Spray, and 1 pint of Steri-Fab. It is very important that you take the time to educate yourself on all of the places bedbugs can hide and all of the labor that is involved in preparing a room for a bedbug treatment. Please take a few moments to read over our Bedbug Guide to get a general idea of what needs to be done. We also recommend that you encase all of your mattresses and boxsprings with Protecta Bed Encasements as mattresses and boxsprings can be very difficult to impossible to treat because of all of the seams, folds, cracks and crevices.
August 27, 2010 Sharon asked:
QDoes the Bedbug Kit #2 come with the Gentrol IGR?
ANo, the Bedbug Kit #2 comes with everything listed on the product description. We used to carry the Gentrol in the Bedbug Kits, but since the outbreak of bedbugs there has not been enough studies shown to prove its effectiveness. We feel your money can be spent better on products we know for sure will work to eradicate bedbugs.
