How Cyper WP Insecticide Works
Cyper WP is a residual insecticide concentrate with the active ingredient Cypermethrin. Cypermethrin is in the synthetic pyrethroid class of insecticides. It is a man-made active ingredient that attacks the central nervous system of insects that come in contact with or ingest it. Cyper WP is diluted with water and applied with a gallon pump sprayer. After it dries, Cyper WP continues to work for up to 3 months.
Cyper WP Target Pests
A variety of crawling and flying pests including (but not limited to) ants, carpenter ants, cockroaches, crickets, scorpions, and spiders
PESTS CONTROLLED WITH CYPER WP: Ants, Bees, Boxelder Bugs, Carpenter Ants, Carpenter Bees, Centipedes, Chiggers, Cockroaches, Crickets, Earwigs, Elm Leaf Beetles, Fire Ants (mounds), Firebrats, Fleas, Flies, Millipedes, Mites, Mosquitoes, Pillbugs, Scorpions, Silverfish, Sod Webworms, Sowbugs, Spiders, Ticks, Termites (above ground only)
Target Uses of Cyper WP
Cyper WP (same as Demon WP and Cynoff WP) insecticide is a loose white powder that is mixed with water. It can be applied as a crack and crevice and/or spot treatment for residual and contact control of ants, bees, biting flies, boxelder bugs, centipedes, cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, elm leaf beetles, firebrats, fleas, flies, millipedes, mosquitoes, pillbugs, silverfish, sowbugs, spiders, ticks, and wasps.
Cyper WP has a residual of up to 3 months. 1 x 1lb. container of Cyper WP yields up to 48 gallons of finished product.
Cyper WP (Wettable Powder) is excellent for larger, tougher pests such as cockroaches, spiders, scorpions, or stink bugs because there is a high concentration of active ingredient. The wettable powder formulation also makes Cyper WP ideal for porous surfaces such as concrete since the individual particles of active ingredient are larger and can more easily stay on top of the surface.
*Cyper WP leaves a white powdery film that may be visible on darker surfaces. For applications where this is a concern, consider using a liquid concentrate instead.
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Cypermethrin 40.0%
Cyper WP Application Instructions
Cyper WP is best applied with a 1 gallon sprayer. Apply to outside foundation and all entry points such as around windows, doors, cracks and crevices, etc. Cyper WP is very toxic to fish. Do not apply near bodies of water or where there may be water run-off. Always read the label completely before use.
Fill applicator tank with the desired volume of water and add Surrender brand Cyper WP Insecticide. Close and agitate before use in order to ensure proper use suspension of the wettable powder. Shake and reagitate application equipment before use if application is interrupted. Make up only amount of treatment volume as required. Do not store dilution in application equipment overnight.
Cyper WP will continue to work for 90 days indoors and 30 days outdoors. We recommend waiting at least 7 days between applications.
Each 1 pound jar of Cyper WP makes 24-48 gallons of finished solution.
Standard Application Dilution rates / Mixing Ratios for CYPER WP:
*1 scoop (0.33 oz.)/gal. of water – 0.1% – maintenance, more frequent applications, foliar applications
* 2 scoops (0.66 oz.)/gal. of water – 0.2% -- clean-out, severe infestations, exterior applications which receive greater direct sunlight, scorpions
*For Perimeter Barrier Applications around Structures – Mix 1-2 scoops of Cyper WP in 1-5 gallons of water to cover 800-1600 square feet. Higher volumes may be needed for dense vegetation or landscaping materials.
*1 scoop is the equivalent of 0.33 oz., 9.5 gm., or 2 level tablespoons

I've used Cyper WP in my home in northern KY. It was very effective and me and my neighbors on both sides of my house used this product at the same time. It works better when you can treat inside and outside of your home. It's a lot cheaper than an exterminator. I repeat treatment about every 3 months to prevent the bugs from coming back. Thank you very much, I can now sleep at night without worrying.

Cyper WP Works Great
By Jim in Victoria Tx on June 6, 2010
Our Ranch house was infested with scorpions. We were advised Cyper WP would do the trick. We literally counted about 40 dead ones after the application and have seen only one or two that were acting very sickly. This stuff works. It actually has killed everything that crawls or flies when that pest comes in contact with it. I will be ordering more in quantity for friends and family. Thank You for having a bulk discount.

The best I ever used
By George on August 3, 2006
Starting in 2005 I noticed late evening every night on my patio carpet several black bugs and identified them as Oriental cockroaches. In March of 2006, it became terrible. A friend looked on his computer and found that Niban bait was recommended. He gave me your number. My first conversation was with Michael and he recommended Cyper WP with the Niban. He told me to remember that Niban was a bait and not to use the Cyper WP near the Niban. I used a 3 gallon watering can with 4 scoops of Cyper WP, mixed good, to eliminate the nest which was in a long crack in our side walk, adjacent to our patio. I soaked the entire patio carpet, and the entire perimeter of our house. I put the Niban bait, sparingly, not closer than 25' to our sun room and patio. This type of cockroach loves water. I removed my landscaping bark which was always wet from watering flowers. I have since ordered 4 Cyper WP. It has been a good month and a half with NO black water cockroaches in our sun room. Once in a while I will find one on our patio carpet, on his back dead. The Cyper WP in also good for killing ants. The best I ever used. I have 1/2 acre of land so sometimes its a struggle. Thank you for all of your help.

Does exactly what it said it would do. I had a very bad spider (Brown Recluse and Wolf) problem inside and outside the house, within a day I saw no more living spiders in my house, period. Word of caution, pay attention to what it says about if you have dark floors. I do have dark floors and it leaves a very noticeable white residue. They have others for inside the house that are clear, i just didn't read thoroughly. Great Product.

Cyper WP Review
By Jim in Utah on July 17, 2010
Seems to be doing the job on black widows and scorpions. Strangely, more scorpions were seen indoors after first application but they were asking to be taken to the ER. Leaves a slight residue, which is the whole idea with the powder, but it's not objectionable and can be wiped/washed off if need be.

Easy use of Cyper WP
By Renee in Boone NC on February 17, 2015
This powder is extremely fine so care needs to be taken in scooping out and placing in the receiving container. Works so well in killing spiders, ants and beetles. Once applied it continues working for at least a couple of months.
By Becky in Florida on February 16, 2015
This was my second purchase of Cyper WP. I always have used Demon but can no longer get it so Cyper was recommended. I do believe it works just as well as the Demon. I took away a star because I don't care for the white residue it leaves. I'll continue to use it because I live in South Florida and you have to stay ahead of the bugs, so the residue is really a pretty small price to pay.
So far, so good
By Yawp in FL on February 8, 2015
Sprayed 4 gals of this around the perimeter, porches, garage, and shop, just about a week ago. It knocked down a bunch of spiders and a few roaches so far. Very straightforward to mix and spray. We'll see how long before it needs to be reapplied.
Kill the little buggers!
By K. in SE Texas on January 4, 2015
I had used the "Malevolent Spirit" branded cyperethrin for a couple of years, with great results, but they no longer package a 1 pound package. I use this with a sprayer on the end of my water hose, and need to mix it strong to get the proper concentration. This one pound tub is perfect for my purposes, and it costs less than the other brand! It will kill nearly any bug, yet is safe for pets once it is dry.

By Trudy in Vicksburg on December 4, 2014
There were no instructions with the product as to how to mix it. Also, the container was only filled about half way. We have only used it once, but we do think we will like the product. A friend of ours, who uses the product, told us how to mix it, and I am sure once we get it mixed correct, it should work and get rid of our roaches.

while in central PA, swarms of Asian beetles were covering the house, inside and out. Being from S. AL, we use Demon WP for bugs, so, I located the CYPER WP and subbed it to completely wipe out the beetles. They lay dead inside and out. Gave the leftover to the home owners for future use.

Teresa from Debary, Fl asked:
QCan you please explain the difference between Demon WP and Cyper WP?
AThere is no difference between Cyper WP and Demon WP other than the fact that Cyper WP is half the price for the same size as Demon WP. They both contain the same active ingredient and perform the same. Demon WP is the name brand, the first one made, by Syngenta. Cyper WP is a generic version made by a different company called Control Solutions. Just like there are about 10 different brands of aspirin at the grocery store that all do the same thing, pest control products are the same way and there can be multiple manufacturers that essentially make the same product.
July 31, 2009 Patricia asked:
QHow many scoops of Cyper WP should be mixed per gallon of water?
Hi. This is my first time using Cyper WP and I have the one pound container. It came with a scooper, but the package does not state anywhere on how much to use. I am guessing that it is one scoop per gallon. But I do NOT want to guess, so that is why I am asking you how many scoops per gallon?
AEach jar of Cyper WP comes with a full product label attached to the the jar. If you take a close look, you will see that you can peel off the label and there is a direction booklet attached. Cyper WP does come with a scooper and you do use one or two level scoops per gallon. Most of the common pests require 1 scoop per gallon of water. If you are treating carpenter ants, carpenter bees, cockroaches, fire ants, scorpions, spiders, ticks or wasps, then you need to use 2 scoops per gallon of water.
August 23, 2009 James asked:
QIs Cyper WP safe to use on a lawn with pets and dogs?
I want to use Cyper WP due to having a lot of spiders at my house. We have found brown widows with their "spikey" eggs. We also have black widows and common house spiders. We have 2 dogs that stay outside and are known to lick, chew and dig in most places. Is it safe to apply Cyper WP in the backyard where the dogs are if I let it dry before putting the dogs back out?
AYes, Cyper WP is perfectly safe to apply around pets and/or children. When you are applying the product you should do exactly as you suggest, which is keep the pets inside or if applying inside in another room until the product dries. After it dries which is usually about 30 minutes, it is perfectly safe to allow pets entry back into the yard or living space.
May 19, 2010 Tcloss asked:
QI have spiders in and on my house. Which product is better for killing them, Cyper WP or Demon WP?
ACyper WP is the generic of Demon WP. Both products contain the same active ingredient in the same concentration. Cypermethrin, the active ingredient in both Cyper WP and Demon WP, is known to be one of the most effective active ingredients for spiders and other hard to kill insects. You might also want to check out our spider control kit, which comes with all the products you need to effectively control spiders.
August 18, 2009 Glenn asked:
QWill Cyper WP kill crazy raspberry ants?
A Cyper WP will kill any type of ant that you physically spray it on, but the problem with most ants is that the colony is somewhere else. If you want to get rid of the problem for good you have to get rid of the colony, which is the source of the issue. We sell a Rasberry/ Carribbean Crazy Ant Kit that has been very popular for these crazy rasberry ants and it includes Termidor SC. Termidor SC does not kill the ants right away, but it allows them to walk over the barrier you apply around your home, and the ants end up taking the product back to the colony where it spreads like a plague. It works like a liquid bait. Residents of Texas have been very successful with this product. http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/crazy-ants-c-1_528.html

QIs cyper wp pet friendly?
A As long as you use the Cyper WP appropriately and follow the product label instructions then it is safe for use around pets. You need to keep pets and children out of the area being sprayed both during treatment, and until all surfaces have dried which can take 1-2 hours.

QAny version that works longer than 30 days for Carpenter Bees?
We recommend looking at one of our Carpenter Bee Kits for a complete treatment program for Carpenter Bees. Most insecticides used outdoors will only have around a 30 day residual. Please read the information below for guidelines on how to do treat thoroughly for this pest. Carpenter bees nest in wood; they do not eat it like termites. Before treating, make sure you have located all entry points of the bees, which look like perfectly round ½ inch holes. We sell all the products mentioned below, and all are included in our carpenter bee kits.

James from Venus, Tx asked:
QHow to kill or control gecko lizards?
Have problem with geckos in garage and attic.
There are no toxic products labeled for geckos, lizards or any reptiles or amphibians, and given the highly beneficial nature of these creatures there is not likely to be any products for them any time soon. The reason they are on your property are because they can find food and proper habitat. Take away their food and they will forage somewhere else. Take away the conditions they need for hiding and they will seek refuge someplace else. You really have two options here: 1.Exclusion. Total exclusion can be hard to achieve particularly around the roof-line where there are going to be gaps that would be very hard to close off, but there also could be some obvious flaws such as broken vent screens, holes around cables, pipes or wires, or gaps under doors. All of these can easily be closed with brush strips, caulking, copper mesh (Stuf-Fit), or some other suitable material. Exclusion is the best choice, because it is permanent, and eliminates or reduces the problem in the future too. 2.Outdoor habitat modification. In short, get rid of the reasons geckos are there in the first place. They are there because they are finding the food they need to survive (insects) and a place to harbor. If you can eliminate either of these essentials, you can get rid of the geckos. Spray a good residual insecticide such as Cyper WP around the outside of your home to help cut down on the number of insects the geckos are eating. If geckos cannot find enough food they will either move on or starve. Eliminate as much clutter and debris around the outside of your home as possible to eliminate the places geckos like to hide. Rake back mulch or rocks at least 6 inches from the structure. If you need to get rid of the geckos that are already indoors the only options are catching them by hand or using glue boards placed in areas where the geckos travel.

QI want to use Cyper WP mix w/Nyguard IGR for inside fleas, can i broadcast Cyper inside?
Cyper WP label states inside fleas treatmet is crack/crevice only inside, but plan to broadcast spray the Nyguard, will I have to spray separately? Thanx
A Cyper WP is labeled to be used for fleas outdoors only. This product should not be broadcast across your carpet. We would recommend using Onslaught Insecticide with the Nyguard IGR. This can be used indoors and outdoors.

Jon from Katy, Tx asked:
QCan Cyper WP be used in flower beds?
I have seen numerous mention of it being safe for lawns. Unless I missed it, can it be used in flower beds with out little to no effect on plants and shrubs?
Cyper WP can be used on flower beds. However, you have to be careful because flower blossoms can be senstive to the product. You do not want to spray while bees are actively foraging. You will use the lower rate, which is 1 scoop per gallon of water. It does leave a white residue as well.
Another product that could be used that is labeled to be broadcast across the lawn, sprayed on trees, bushes, flowers, etc. is Bifen IT. This cannot be used on any type of edibles. You will mix 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water.

QIs it OK to Remove White Residue left by Cyper WP?
We have been pleased with the results of the Cyper WP, however don't like to see the white residue on our floors. Will mopping up the residue remove the active ingredient and negate our efforts to exterminate?
Cyper WP if mopped up will take any residual up. You would need to treat again after mopping. Please call us at 866-581-7378 if you are interested in a product that dries clear.

Chris from Lexington, Mo asked:
QBest spray insecticide to control Brown Recluse spiders in the home?
I wish to control them in the basement as well as the living area. I've been looking at Demon WP, Suspend SC and Demand CS. I'm wanting something that is residual so I don't have to spray them directly to control them. Would one of these products be better than the other or is there a better choice that I've not listed? Thank you.
A Even though Brown Recluse spiders are very scary to have in your house they are no harder to get rid of than any other spider. The hardest part of getting rid of the brown recluse is finding them since they like to remain hidden. Cyper WP would be a great choice for indoor and outdoor spider control. The active ingredient in Cyper WP is cypermethrin, which is known to be one of the top choices for spider control. Spraying Cyper WP will also help to get rid of the insects that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving in. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure. We have included Cyper in our spider control kit, which also contains glue boards to help monitor the infestation (and help catch the spiders too).
