4 of 5 Stars  Very effective
By Pam on April 2, 2009

I've used Cyper WP in my home in northern KY. It was very effective and me and my neighbors on both sides of my house used this product at the same time. It works better when you can treat inside and outside of your home. It's a lot cheaper than an exterminator. I repeat treatment about every 3 months to prevent the bugs from coming back. Thank you very much, I can now sleep at night without worrying.

5 of 5 Stars  The best I ever used
By George on August 3, 2006

Starting in 2005 I noticed late evening every night on my patio carpet several black bugs and identified them as Oriental cockroaches. In March of 2006, it became terrible. A friend looked on his computer and found that Niban bait was recommended. He gave me your number. My first conversation was with Michael and he recommended Cyper WP with the Niban. He told me to remember that Niban was a bait and not to use the Cyper WP near the Niban. I used a 3 gallon watering can with 4 scoops of Cyper WP, mixed good, to eliminate the nest which was in a long crack in our side walk, adjacent to our patio. I soaked the entire patio carpet, and the entire perimeter of our house. I put the Niban bait, sparingly, not closer than 25' to our sun room and patio. This type of cockroach loves water. I removed my landscaping bark which was always wet from watering flowers. I have since ordered 4 Cyper WP. It has been a good month and a half with NO black water cockroaches in our sun room. Once in a while I will find one on our patio carpet, on his back dead. The Cyper WP in also good for killing ants. The best I ever used. I have 1/2 acre of land so sometimes its a struggle. Thank you for all of your help.

5 of 5 Stars  Cyper WP
By Sean on July 30, 2010

Does exactly what it said it would do. I had a very bad spider (Brown Recluse and Wolf) problem inside and outside the house, within a day I saw no more living spiders in my house, period. Word of caution, pay attention to what it says about if you have dark floors. I do have dark floors and it leaves a very noticeable white residue. They have others for inside the house that are clear, i just didn't read thoroughly. Great Product.

5 of 5 Stars  Cyper WP Works Great
By Jim on June 6, 2010

Our Ranch house was infested with scorpions. We were advised Cyper WP would do the trick. We literally counted about 40 dead ones after the application and have seen only one or two that were acting very sickly. This stuff works. It actually has killed everything that crawls or flies when that pest comes in contact with it. I will be ordering more in quantity for friends and family. Thank You for having a bulk discount.

5 of 5 Stars  Cyper WP Review
By Jim on July 17, 2010

Seems to be doing the job on black widows and scorpions. Strangely, more scorpions were seen indoors after first application but they were asking to be taken to the ER. Leaves a slight residue, which is the whole idea with the powder, but it's not objectionable and can be wiped/washed off if need be.

By Dave on May 14, 2013

Thi stuff gets 5 stars from me becuase it is at a good price point and so far appears to work great i had wasps flying around all over the house and spiders and silverfish inside (nothing major though just normal bug activity) i sprayed this stuff on all my trees and shrubs and the house, thresholds, patio, soffetts, inside my garage, the swing set in the back yard, basically everywhere i could reach. the only "problem" i have now is that i have to keep sweeping dead bugs out of my garage. This stuff is a good buy just make sure you follow the mixing direcctions or the product won't work which is true of any pesticide.

  • 5 of 5 Stars  Great product
By Chris on April 16, 2013

After buying a short-sale house in Las Vegas Nevada that had been without pest control for over a year, I was constantly finding scorpions in the house and in the backyard by the pool. I can tell you that after 2 years of using Cyper WP I have not seen a scorpion in months. Given that I have 2 dogs (labs) I treat the entire yard twice a year to ensure that everything is well coated. This is a great product that I have given to many family members and friends to protect their yards and houses. Highly recommended!!!

By Jacqi on March 7, 2013

We have used Cyper WP for 3 years or better. we keep ordering it cause my husband keeps telling friends and family members about the product and gives them some to try.... We have a home in FL.. and the big black roaches were making it their home ..even though we had a pest control service each month even when we were gone back to Mi. for the summer......we had wasp problems in MI..and that is when we started with Cyper WP. We had a wasp problem. That sure took care of the wasp nest...that had taken over our roof of the cabin..Then we brought a canister down to Fl. when we came and started using it down here NO more black roaches. Just before we leave for Mi. my husband spray around the outside of the home and bushes and ant hills... when we come back no bugs in the house or windowsills. Needless to say no more paying $ 30 a month for pest control.. If I could I would give the products, Do MY Own Pest Control 10 stars.... We buy it by the case...much better price...we can afford.

5 of 5 Stars  Cyper WP is da bomb!
By Toby on January 21, 2013

Sprayed the perimeter, inside and out, of my shop, garden shed, and exterior of house. After cleaning up and closing up my shop there already was a spider in the throws of death, hobbling a half-circle where my roll-up door rests. Less than an hour it was dry and doing what it's supposed to...and in 34-F temps!

  • 5 of 5 Stars  Amazing, kills anything that crawls over it
By Oliver on January 11, 2013

Great product, I had a major big headed ant problem. Sprayed this stuff a few times, talk about killing ants. I have not seen any more ants show up but the normal one or two once in a while. It does leave a white residue like most products, but it can be cleaned easily. Might want to spray a little heavier the first few times to create a strong barrier.

July 31, 2009 Patricia asked:

QHow many scoops of Cyper WP per gallon of water?
Hi. This is my first time using Cyper WP and I have the one pound container. It came with a scooper, but the package does not state anywhere on how much to use. I am guessing that it is one scoop per gallon. But I do NOT want to guess, so that is why I am asking you how many scoops per gallon?

AEach jar of Cyper WP comes with a full product label attached to the the jar. If you take a close look you will see that you can peel off the label and there is a direction booklet attached. Cyper WP does come with a scooper and you do use one or two level scoops per gallon. Most of the common pests require 1 scoop per gallon of water. If you are treating carpenter ants, carpenter bees, cockroaches, fire ants, scorpions, spiders, ticks or wasps, then you need to use 2 scoops per gallon of water.

September 3, 2011 Teresa from Debary, Fl asked:

QQuestion about spider control and Cyper WP vs Demon WP?
Can you please explain the difference between Demon WP and Cyper WP? You say both are great for pest control, but I'm not seeing what the differences are between the 2 products? I'd like to use the best one for both indoor and outdoor use, in a household with 3 kids, a dog and a cat. Many thanks.

AThere is no difference between Cyper WP and Demon WP other than the fact that Cyper WP is half the price for the same size as Demon WP.  They both contain the same active ingredient and perform the same.  Demon WP is the name brand, the first one made, by Syngenta.  Cyper WP is a generic version made by a different company called Control Solutions.  Just like there are about 10 different brands of aspirin at the grocery store that all do the same thing, pest control products are the same way and there can be multiple manufacturers that essentially make the same product.

August 23, 2009 James asked:

QIs Cyper WP safe to use on a lawn with pets and dogs?
I want to use Cyper WP due to having a lot of spiders at my house. We have found Brown Widows with their "spikey" eggs. We also have Black Widows and common house spiders. We have 2 dogs that stay outside and are known to lick, chew and dig in most places. Is it safe to apply Cyper WP in the backyard where the dogs are if I let it dry before putting the dogs back out?

AYes, Cyper WP is perfectly safe to apply around pets and/or children.  When you are applying the product you should do exactly as you suggest, which is keep the pets inside or if applying inside in another room until the product dries.  After it dries which is usually about 30 minutes, it is perfectly safe to allow pets entry back into the yard or living space.

QI have spiders in and on my house. Which product is better for killing them, Cyper WP or Demon WP?

ACyper WP is the generic of Demon WP. Both products contain the same active ingredient in the same concentration. Cypermethrin, the active ingredient in both Cyper WP and Demon WP, is known to be one of the most effective active ingredients for spiders and other hard to kill insects. You might also want to check out our spider control kit, which comes with all the products you need to effectively control spiders.

August 18, 2009 Glenn asked:

QWill Cyper WP kill crazy raspberry ants?

ACyper WP will kill any type of ant that you physically spray it on, but the problem with most ants is that the colony is somewhere else.  If you want to get rid of the problem for good you have to get rid of the colony, which is the source of the issue.  There is a product that we sell that has been very popular for these crazy rasberry ants and it is called Termidor.  Termidor does not kill the ants right away, but it allows them to walk over the barrier you apply around your home, and the ants end up taking the product back to the colony where it spreads like a plague.  It works like a liquid bait.  Residents of Texas have been very successful with this product.

QWhat is the best insecticide for high desert locations?
This includes all native insects including spiders and scorpions, but also all the inported insects that are common in a tourist environment.

ACyper Wp is one of the best products on the market for scorpions and holds up very well to desert conditions. Cyper WP is also labeled for just about any other insect that could be bothersome.

July 30, 2012 Greg from St. Paul, Mn asked:

QI noticed that you mention a white reside with Cyper WP on dark surfaces. Can you wipe it off?
I'm just wondering if wiping it off would cut down on effectiveness. I noticed a question (I believe with Demon WP) that stated that it shouldn't be scrubbed off of a deck, but that a hard rain shouldn't effect it.

AYou can wash off the Cyper WP residue but you would also be wiping off the residual killing power. If you want to remove the residue it will take a brush and soap and water (not hard scrubbing, just a light scrubbing will do). Water alone will not wash it away. If a visible residue is a problem for you, you may want to consider going with one of our liquid concentrates such as Cy-Kick CS or Demand CS.

July 22, 2012 Karen from Austin, Tx asked:

QWhere exactly can I spray Cyper WP indoors for scorpions and brown recluse spiders.
The instructions say I can spot treat inside the house. Does this mean I can spray the area where the baseboard meets the carpet or wood floor in areas such as closets?

AIndoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities (cables, pipes and wires) enter into the structure.

July 1, 2012 Beau from Birmingham Alabama asked:

QHow often should I use Cyper wp or something else to spray and kill most bugs spiders and all indoors and outs
and outdoors Cyper Wp or something else?

ACyper WP can be used indoors and outdoors for spiders and general pest control. Cyper WP is a wettable powder formulation which stands up well to moisture, heat and sun. When treating indoors be sure that all pets and other people are out of the application area and they can return as soon as the area is dry. The Cyper WP product label recommends 2 scoops of product per gallon of water, sprayed directly into cracks and crevices, under appliances, around door frames and window frames and in places where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure.

May 14, 2012 Mike from Ewing, Nj asked:

QCan this product be used with a hose end sprayer?
I understand the instructions of use with a canister sprayer. Can this product be used with a hose end sprayer, i.e. Ortho Dial 'N Spray, to cover a larger area quickly? I was specifically thinking to use it the hose end sprayer to create the 6-10 foot barrier around house. I thought the powder could be per-mixed with some water in the sprayer's container, thereby making a concentrate. Is that a viable approach? What would the application rate per gallon need to be?

ACyper WP and other wettable powders are not generally great formulations to use in hose end sprayer because they can clog the sprayer and most hose end sprayers are not calibrated for use with wettable powders. Typically you would want to apply 1 gallon of diluted solution per 1000 square feet of yard.  Each gallon would have one scoop of Cyper WP.  So, if your yard was 2000 square feet, you would place two scoops of Cyper WP in the hose end sprayer, then fill the hose end sprayer to the 2 gallon mark with water.  This should apply one scoop per gallon of water over 1000 square feet.

QWhat product do you recommend for spiders, earwigs and general pest control?
What product do you recommend for me? I live in New Orleans, LA. I am mainly dealing with spiders and earwigs. What do you recommend to treat my the perimeter of my home and foundation with? I'm looking for something with the longest residual, that could hold up against the hot, humid summer sun, as well as frequent rain. In addition, what lawn treatment do you recommend? Thank you.

May 1, 2012 Neil from Raleigh, Nc asked:

QHow do you control millipedes indoors?
I live in a townhouse, and over the last 6-9 months we have been invaded by millipedes. I suspect these may be coming in from an attached unit, but regardless, I'm trying to find the best solution to control this pest. I've been using Suspend SC for some other pests and had hoped this would control the millipedes too, but it's hasn't even slowed them down. What solutions do you recommend?

AMillipedes are usually going to be present when there is a lot of moisture in the area. If you have a lot of mulch near your house you may want to consider raking it back at least six inches away from the house. Also trimming bushes so that you can see the soil beneath them and so they do not touch the house will help reduce soil moisture and stop the insects from gaining access to the house via the bushes.  We recommend using Cyper WP around the outside perimeter of the home (especially under and around eaves, decks, patios, and window shutters), and inside along baseboards, in cracks and crevices, and other potential millipede harboring locations. It is recommended that you caulk and seal as many indoor cracks and crevices as possible to stop insects from entering under walls and from around cables, pipes and wires from attached units. We have also written an article with other tips that may help you with millipede control : Get Rid of Millipedes
